Macie, Avery, and Nia have volunteered in the parade for many years by helping to carry banners and they did a great job this year as the spirits of ‘76. And they nailed the flag raising in front of a record sized crowd. Way to go girls!!!

Do your kids know that they could win $20 or more by decorating and entering a float in the Hollyhock parade?

They could buy a lot of candy and still have money left over for their college fund. Satisfy their sweet tooth and help them prepare for their future by encouraging them to decorate and enter a float in this year's parade. See our flyer for details. Bring your floats to the staging area (Calvin & Alexander) by 8:15 AM this Thursday morning.

It is a big election year, so we anticipate a lot of political candidates from all walks of life to join us for our event. It is also our 90th celebration of community. Below are some general details, but if you are running for office, simply show up. Candidates who are running in an upcoming election should line up along Calvin just south of Alexander. If you are planning to bring a vehicle, trailer, or boat?, please approach the intersection of Calvin and Alexander from from Hall Street (South). Participants start to congregate around 8 am. Parade starts promptly at 8:30.

We are open to all who want to participate in our event and there has never been a fee to participate. We have no corporate sponsors. We are an ALL VOLUNTEER run organization that relies solely on donations from our community to keep this historic event alive. Anyone and everyone can donate by visiting www.tinyurl.com/hollyhockparade

See you in just over a month from today! And remember, no throwing candy from a moving vehicle. That is a bad idea, right?
