With our third and final cosplay guest announcement we have another new comer to GFCC with Krystal Rose.

Krystal is a Caribbean cosplayer who has been part of the cosplay community for over 15 years. She specializes in foam work, wig building, special effects, and needlework, and loves bringing characters to life through creativity and craftsmanship.

One of her favorite parts of cosplay is sharing the hobby with her daughter and balancing the “cosmom” life while continuing to create, learn, and grow. She is passionate about teaching and helping other cosplayers in the community expand their skills and confidence through crafting and creativity.

With our second cosplay guest announcement we have someone new to GFCC with Theo Hansen.

Theo is a Southern Minnesota artist who leans towards drawing and painting, but also works in textiles and costume designing. Theo has been cosplaying for well over a decade, winning cosplayer awards throughout the midwest, with costumes made and modeled by himself. Usually, you can find Theo in Artist Alley with his own table, Theoretically.Okay, and while he doesn't have a table, you can find him around Grand Forks Comic Con as a Cosplay guest this year!

It's time to announce our cosplay guests for the year!! Welcoming back from last year we have Divie Fuse

Divie is an avid gamer, streamer, and seasoned cosplayer with over 12 years of experience. Inspired by her father’s creativity in costume making, she discovered the vibrant world of anime conventions and has been creating fun costumes ever since. Her work emphasizes accuracy, sustainability, as well as the ability to bring characters to life through immersive photo editing.

From Pokémon to Cyberpunk, Divie enjoys every stage of the creative process, from tailoring and prop-making to building complete, polished cosplays. Be sure to stop by and say hi to Divie and don’t miss the chance to ask for her best convention tips at Grand Forks Comic Con.

Alright gamers, last year we tantalized your tastebuds with Warhammer 40k demo put on by the Gaming Griffins. This year we are going full on tournament though.

We are doing 5 person team tournament, with four 2000 point rounds, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. We will be using the new 2026 11th edition rules that release this summer.

Pre-registration and passes will be required to compete. Each team member will need their own pass to GFCC which can be purchased either in person or online from the Alerus Center, as well as a Team Tournament Pass purchased through the GFCC website (links in the comments). If you don't have a team of 5 and are looking to be paired with other players check out the pass information on our website on who to contact to get paired.

Cons in a lot of ways are about learning, whether you're an attendee, a vendor, or a show runner you always learn from one to the next. Well last year we learned that you all like to fight each other, a lot 🤣. Joining us again we have our Grand Forks chapters of Amtgard World's End - Amtgard and LudoSpot LudoSport Grand Forks - Sporting Light Saber Combat Academy. This year they will be splitting time in the "octagon" so you can take turns beating on your friends and family with foam swords, as well as learning to wield a lightsaber. You can also learn how to get involved in these groups year round!

You know its just this weather makes it feel like time is flying so fast when you have two or three seasons within one week, lets announce a sponsor/prize for the cosplay contest! Alright so there is one activity through out the weekend that's bigger then any other and that's the Cosplay Contest! As usual the Adults (16+) cosplay contest will be on Saturday at 4pm. The Kids (15 and under) cosplay contest will be on Sunday at 3pm. Stay tuned between now and con to learn about some fun sponsored prizes!
