We made a lot of changes to our format this year — not because it was easy, not because it was comfortable, but because we believed in something bigger than the way things had always been done. We took out the Saturday night show. We added games. We launched two brand‑new non‑sanctioned dance events that we knew would take time, patience, and faith to grow.

And we did it knowing full well that change comes with uncertainty.
With questions.
With “are we doing the right thing?” moments.
With those quiet, late‑night “I hope this works…” breaths.

But then… something happened.
Something that stopped me in my tracks.
Something that made every risk worth it.

Twenty‑five percent of the people who joined us this year were BRAND NEW to MDF.
Brand new.
Some had never stepped onto a competition floor.
Some had never been part of anything like this.
Some walked in nervous, unsure, maybe even scared — and still chose us.
Chose this community.
Chose this space we’re building.

And watching them dance… watching them smile… watching them realize “I belong here”…
That was the moment.
That was the confirmation.
That was the dream coming to life right in front of us.

This — THIS — is what I wanted to achieve this year.
Not bigger numbers.
Not flashier schedules.
Not more noise.
But more hearts. More dancers. More people who felt welcome, seen, and safe to try something new.

Day ONE is officially in the books — and WOW.

It had everything we hoped for and then some.
The competition came in fierce, the showcases were straight‑up spectacular, and our H***y Tonk Line Dance crew?
They left nothing on that floor. Zero. Empty. Spent. Perfect.

And my heart?
Bursting.
We welcomed so many new faces this year, and seeing them jump right into the magic fills me with so much joy.

To those who’ve been with us for years —
thank you for showing up, lifting us up, and growing with us.
Your loyalty is the backbone of this festival.

Now… deep breath…
because we get to wake up and do it all again.
Round two, let’s go.

✨ I am surrounded by the most AMAZING humans!

My instructors have gone above and beyond, pouring their hearts into getting dancers excited and into their workshops. Their passion is unreal.

And now my vendors?
They’re out here crushing it, promoting their side with so much love and intention.

At the end of the day, we all win.
This is what I believe in with my whole soul — community, collaboration, and lifting each other up.

When we support each other,
we don’t just succeed… we shine together.
