Washington Hillclimb, known as the Climb to the Clouds, is considered one of the oldest motorsports events in the United States. It was first run in 1904, seven years before the first Indy 500 and twelve years prior to the inaugural Pikes Peak Hillclimb. e challenges for driver and automobile, the serpentine tarmac and gravel road is lined with trees and dramatic drop-offs as it winds its way to the 6,288 foot summit of the Northeast’s tallest peak. Three Climb to the Clouds drivers in one video!

It was an incredible weekend at Mt. Ascutney, this was the fam (recce) run in the morning where Patrick Martin took Ryan Tuerck for his first 'grip' run up the mountain with Event Chair Greg Wilcox hot on their heels!

Ryan would go on to set a new Ascutney long course record, breaking the previous record set by Dan Rutan 23 years ago!

Incredible weather, incredible driving, and a VERY fast road saw many drivers set new PBs.

The next NEHA event is in two weeks at Okemo in Ludlow, VT! With the best spectating on the calendar you should stop by and check it out as drivers prpepare for Mt. Washington in August!

We’re proud to announce as an official charity of Climb to the Clouds 2026!

We’ll be donating profits from 2026 that will go to providing support, resources, and programs to survivors of active-duty military loss through America’s Gold Star Families programming.

Founded in 2007 by Patti Latch, a military mom from Illinois, they are a 501(c)3, the organization began as informal get-togethers to help build community among bereaved families. Today America’s Gold Star families has grown into a nationwide network of survivors and their families. They provide scholarships, memorials, legislative work and much, much more to help support and honor the sacrifice of America’s armed services.
