ABOUT:
The Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro would like to offer you an exciting opportunity to empower youth living in public housing to reach beyond what many think is possible! As a true leader in the housing industry, our agency has the distinct pleasure of hosting the SERC MLK Basketball Tournament & Cheer Competition in our great state next year. holiday with their youth, families,

coaches, and staff to this highly anticipated weekend of competitive sports, educational opportunities, and cultural experiences. BACKGROUND:
Since 1992 SERC-NAHRO has had the privilege of being associated with an effort to create opportunities for leadership development for youth in the SERC Region. It began with the efforts of a few strong-willed individuals devoted to the belief that providing youth from low-income families with experiences they might not otherwise have access to could have a direct, positive impact on their futures. They started a “Sports Festival” in the State of Alabama. And over these past 30 years, it has grown into the annual “SERC MLK Basketball Tournament and Cheer Competition.”

This occasion not only provides a chance for the youth to showcase their remarkable athletic abilities but also offers a weekend of cultural experiences and educational opportunities.
