What is "Bangers and Mash"?

Inspiration for this meal?
A few years ago, my sister was turning 50 and wanted to do something special for her birthday. So all four of us siblings went on a trip to Ireland and England together. We went to an authentic Irish pub in Dublin on our first night and I ordered the "Bangers and Mash". I loved it so much, I ate if for every diner meal for the whole 10 day trip! It was great every time. It is so simple but so satisfying. A perfect comfort meal, as the cozy fall season approaches.
Buttons and Mash?
I have since made it at home and have created an American version, I'm calling "Buttons and Mash". The Dining Room has authentic imported British Cumberland sausages, and will serve it two ways on one plate, UK traditional and Americanized version. Let us know which version you like best! Enjoyed along with a generous mound of mashed potatoes, drizzled with onion gravy, along with buttery peas. Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert!
