🎬 Call for Films for the 2027 fest is NOW OPEN! 🌍

Filmmakers from Colorado and around the world, we want to see your films! Submissions for CEFF 2027 are now open. Join us in celebrating the power of film to inspire, educate, and motivate action on environmental issues.

Our focus is environmental storytelling in all its forms. From climate change and conservation to food systems, environmental justice, energy, water, wildlife, and beyond. Films can also explore the intersection of environmental issues with social, economic, and cultural themes. Documentaries, narratives, experimental films, and more are all welcome. Above all, we’re looking for powerful stories and strong filmmaking.

We accept films of all styles and experience levels from all over the globe.

Join us in inspiring awareness and action through film. Learn more about what we’re looking for and submit your work today!

We’re excited to be hosting a couple of screenings this month and invite you to join us!

Bring a friend and grab some food + drinks tomorrow, May 8th at 6 p.m. at the Table Public House and tune in for a screening of Snk’míp – Dig Deeper, a film that follows a conservation group working to restore a marsh in British Columbia.

And on May 19th from 12-2 p.m., we’re partnering with the University Hills YMCA to bring inspiring films to the community, including The Rewilders, What the River Knows, and The Human Side of Plastic.

Whether you’re a film lover or just looking for an educational night out, these screenings are a great way to experience impactful storytelling close to home.

If you’re in the Denver area, come be part of the conversation. 🌎✹

This week is Air Quality Awareness Week!

The Regional Air Quality Council is the leading air quality planning agency for the Denver metropolitan area. They’re also one of CEFF’s sponsors, and together we share a vision of improving the health of our communities and our environment.

Did you know that ground-level ozone, though invisible, is one of the biggest air quality challenges we face each summer on the Front Range?

But there are small actions we can take that can make a big impact. Get alerts this summer from Simple Steps Better Air about how to protect your health and help improve our air by texting “BetterAirCO” to 21000.

🌍 Happy Earth Day from CEFF! đŸŒ±

Today is a chance to reflect on the places that matter most to us, from Colorado’s wild landscapes to environments across the globe.

At CEFF, we’re inspired by the stories that connect us to these places. Through film, we see both the challenges facing our planet and the people working toward a more sustainable future.

This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the power of storytelling and the resilience of our planet and our communities working towards a better future 💚

Let us know in the comments something you’re committed to doing this year to make our planet healthier!
