I dunno, the chest deep swamp rumor seems a little like the big fish that got away story 😉. One week later... 😁

Adventure race update: We are well on our way for the big race tomorrow morning. Just a few items for you this afternoon. First of all, check in time is 6:30 am, race starts at 8:00 am sharp. Second, this year all the maps are pre-plotted so you don't have to stress about getting your maps plotted before the race starts. You can stage your gear, study the map, trash talk your friends :) The fun before the real fun begins. Third, we are providing the canoes, pfd's, and paddles. However if you really wanted to, you could bring your own pfd's and paddles and I can get them to the water and back for you. I'll do that because I love that each of you signed up for our race. Finally, HandyGPS. If you are one, like me, that likes to use the app to plot your check points in your phone so you can study the aerial a little before the race that is totally fine. You can run the app in the background during the race to record your track as long as your willing to screen shot an area that you had the hardest time with :D You can't use the app during the race, but it is pretty cool to see where you all went afterwards. If you are rocking an Android phone, I might be persuaded to share the KML file with you tomorrow morning so you don't have to type it all in. If your on an iPhone, sorry Apple won't let you do that without a computer. You'll have to type it all in once you get the coordinate/clue sheet. More to come as we get the rest of the preparations done for tomorrow!! See you in no time

ARG Family fun race update: It pains me to announce this but we have had to cancel tomorrows family fun race. We were getting down to the wire to order the prizes and we had to make a decision. Roll the dice and order in the hopes more interest comes or fold it up and try again next year. Since this race is 100% non profit we weren't willing to gamble. So we will try again next year! Luckily the adventure race is on schedule and ready to roll!!

Holy buckets people you are in for an epic adventure. I won't lie, I wish I was racing. The foot section is going to be so awesome. You will no doubt be the most hard core individual in your office come Monday morning. You are going to be challenged and won't forget it. Pro tip #1 bug spray. For the love of Zod bring bug spray. The ticks are roaming the woods. #2 your compass is your friend. Our topo maps are from 2015 and the check points are spot on but you will want that compass when your in the trees. The tree line areas on the map is right on with the actual tree lines. #3, most of you probably already know so this is for any new racers. Long socks or pants. We did run across a patch of stinging nettles a time or two. We were just in shorts. They make it uncomfortable for a few minutes if you track through them. Can't wait for Saturday morning!
