The Great Flood of 2019! Ren in the Glen March 15, 2019. Actually this photo was taken just outside the Glen, because we couldn't get much closer without a water craft. You can see the water flowing out of the Glen at the top left. This is the sort of thing we're hoping to address with our project this summer.

Important announcement from Ren in the Glen!

We will not be presenting Ren in the Glen in 2026 in order to undertake a major erosion control project in the Glen.

We will return in 2027!

Flooding and erosion has been a problem at the far end of the Glen for years, and we have received a grant from the US Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the Wisconsin DNR and the National Resources Conservation Service to address the issue this year.

Unfortunately, this project will take all summer to complete, preventing us from holding the faire this season.

All vendors, performers and volunteers, including applicants, are being contacted directly via email.

Meet the Knights! Here are a few of the knights of the Kingdom of the Shires... (pictures not necessarily of the same knights, because who can see through those helmets?)

Angus the First, King Emeritus, Scottish sailor, backsmith and Knight of the Order of the Brown Chain Masters. Founding Monarch (retired) of the Kingdom of the Shires who fights heavy armored combat reserve at an age decades past when most fighters retire. Beware the old man in the young man's war.

Der Falke "Bein" (aka The German Mountain), German mercenary master blacksmith Knight of the Red, Black, and Green Chains. Whether it be arms and armor or siege engines, he will build it. In heavy combat, he is a dangerous opponent with his superior armament and wit.

Eydin McBarrow (The Black Bear) professional Irish bastard of King Angus the First, Knight of the Order of the Brown Chain Masters, Prince of the Kingdom of the Shires. He fights with endurance and experience. He may not always win his battle but he always outlasts his opponents.

Sir Landrew, the Iron Beast, hails from the frozen northern most parts of the Kingdom of the Shires. He is the Green Privy Counselor for Bear Hill Shire. He is a Viking Blacksmith, Shaman, Artist, and vicious and cunning warrior of hand and iron.

Eat, drink, and make merry! We have greatly expanded our feasting options this year at The Glen!

To list just a few... our food court features turkey legs, brats, sandwiches, burgers, kabobs, bacon, wings, pulled pork, sausages, gyros, fire-baked potatoes, pita wraps, chips, fries, rice, mushrooms, salads, sloppy Joes, ribs, pulled pork, wontons, pad Thai, egg rolls, nachos, pickles, beans, slaw, and plenty of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, and of course, many treats including candies, shaved ice, caramel candy, kettle, cheddar, and caramel corn, and a wide variety of drinks including ice tea, coffee, lemonade, and sodas!
