We couldn't think of a more perfect day to announce the first of our 2026 Community Awards! Congratulations to our second ever Visionary of the Year - Ben Rowley!
Tonight, Ben's original musical Solstice makes its premiere on our Main Stage after selling out a staged reading in our Cabaret in 2023. We are deeply honored to be host of this new work through its life cycle and to have witnessed the work and Ben grow together within our four walls.
In addition to having written the Solstice Book and Score, Ben serves as Music Director at St. Mary's Church, Artistic Director of the Arts Academy at St. Mary's, Guest Artist at Theatre for Tots, Music Director, Conductor and Pit Musician for several local organizations including Broadway Upstate.
Ben is not only immensely talented and creative - he is making his mark on the local arts scene, advocating for and lifting up other artists along the way.
Each time Ben steps through the Wood Theater doors, its with an infectious energy of warmth and collaboration that we are so grateful for.
We are proud to call Ben a friend of the Wood and to present him with this award at our 'The Greatest Show (in Glens Falls)' Gala on Friday July 24th at The Queensbury Hotel.
