Alright folks, we've started to get a clearer picture of what this cancellation is going to cost us in terms of settlements with artists, equipment providers, vendors, etc. I appreciate your patience on this matter as I know nobody likes to wait to find out when they're going to get their money back.
So, here's the situation - we are looking at mid-September to have every NWCR ticket fully refunded. You will be refunded through your original point of purchase, which for most people is PayPal. If you purchased your tickets from a retailer, please return to that retailer and they will refund you directly. If you would like to swap your NWCR tickets out for Northwoods Rock Rally tickets, you can surely do that. If you have online tickets, just shoot me an email at [email protected] and we will transfer them over to NWRR, same with campsites (though we are running low on available sites for Rock Rally). If you have a Northwoods Events Season Pass, you will be compensated with a six-pack of drink tickets at NWRR.
I understand that waiting two months is not ideal, nor is not being able to experience what would have been an awesome festival.. but I don't want to make any promises that I can't keep, and I know for sure that I'll be able to cover the refunds by mid-September.
I really wish we could have put this thing on, because it was such a cool lineup. The responses have been very warm, and I appreciate everyone's understanding and condolences. Though it doesn't compare to losing a family member like one person described it, this festival was something that my team and I put an enormous amount of time, effort, and money into, and it does really suck that we had to cancel.
I also want to say that there is no blame to lay for this, other than on myself for believing there was room for another festival in north-central Wisconsin. The artists we had on the bill were fantastic, and for the most part very easy to work with. They are all as bummed as you and me, and they were all putting a ton of effort into getting the word out as well.
In the coming days you may hear of a couple shows popping up next weekend from some of our artists, I just ask that you go out and support them. They didn't deserve to lose a cool festival opportunity like this, and hopefully other shows or tours are not cancelled due to our misfortunes.
If there are any questions from anyone, don't hesitate to reach out. I've been dealing with a lot of fallout after Friday, but am trying to remain in good spirits.. I appreciate everyone's patience and concern, and hope that someday country music will be able to return to Rusk County in a big way.
