Update: Velma abandoned her nest! She hatched a few chicks and left the rest of the eggs to fend for themselves. This one was partially hatched but the membrane shrink wrapped onto him/her. Three more eggs are pipping. We are hoping for the best!

One of the old sheds got turned into a coop when we first moved in. We usually had no choice but to let the girls free-range all day and hope for the best when we were not around. Now, the girls are finally getting a run to keep them safe when we aren’t home. 🥚🌻🏡

We are exploring the land we purchased last fall and each new season has a surprise of what fruit is to come. So far, we have found persimmons, figs, peaches and now blackberries! Being that blackberries are native here we are loaded with blackberry bushes from the overgrown fences & uncut pastures. We collected enough to snack on & look forward to picking more! Let us know some of your favorite blackberry recipes! 😋
