Held in Gilbert, SC, the Lexington County Peach Festival is organized and led by community volunteers.  What started as a community BBQ in 1958 has transformed into an event bigger than the town itself. With an estimated 35,000+ people attending, we rely on a strong base of incredible volunteers.

There aren’t many things that define a community the way the Lexington County Peach Festival does for us.

When the decision was made to cancel earlier this month, it broke our hearts. The decision reflected a clear and realistic evaluation of where we stood at the time, planning challenges and uncertainties outside our control made it feel like we couldn’t move forward in a way that honored what this festival deserves.

Here’s the truth:

This festival isn’t just an event on a calendar to us. It’s part of who we are.

It’s 9 months of planning and countless late nights.
It’s 16+ hour days.
It’s generations working side-by-side and a tradition of serving our great community.
It’s the pride of seeing our local businesses, volunteers, friends, and families gathered in one place.
It’s heritage. It’s memories. It’s home.

Because of the community's response, new volunteers stepping forward, sponsors leaning in, leaders offering support, we are beyond proud to announce:

The Lexington County Peach Festival is back on for Saturday, July 4, 2026.

We don’t take this lightly. We’re moving forward because this festival is deeply important to us; it’s deeply important to you, our friends, neighbors and community.

Thank you for believing in it. Thank you for standing up with us. Thank you for loving this tradition as much as we do.

We cannot wait to celebrate with you again.

📢 An Important Message to Our Gilbert Community

For 65 years, the Lexington County Peach Festival has brought our community together each summer for celebration, connection, and unforgettable memories.

Today, we have an important announcement to share.

After thoughtful consideration and a vote by our membership, the Gilbert Community Club has made the difficult decision not to hold the Peach Festival in 2026.

In 2026, many of our key organizing members will be attending the 250th anniversary celebration of our nation's founding in Washington, D.C. Without these dedicated volunteers, we cannot ensure the quality experience our community has come to expect and deserves.

While we understand this news may be disappointing after 65 consecutive years, our commitment to the Gilbert community remains unwavering. We're actively exploring new ways to bring our neighbors together throughout 2026.
