For anyone who ran this year's marathon and will be using the race to qualify for another event (like Boston) we finally have our certification officially approved. Don't worry, it was backdated to March 23 so it will cover everyone who ran a qualifying time for 2022. You probably won't need it, but in case you do our certification # is PA22010NP. Big shout out to our two measurers J Marshall Pickard and Carl Hendricks (who ran in the event).

Does anyone like a post race beer? If you do, you'll be excited to hear that Appalachian Brewing Company will be sponsoring our beer garden on April 10th and serving their tasty microbrews! And if you are not 21 or prefer something non-alcoholic, they will bring a keg of their awesome root beer as well so we have a tasty beverage for every finisher.

ABC will have two beers on tap, but they haven't decided which ones yet. If you want to help them decide, post here saying what your favorite ABC brew is. You can check out their line up at https://www.abcbrew.com/craft-beverages/beer.

How many races have you traveled to where you could stay in the host hotel, roll out of bed, and be on the starting line in under 60 seconds? Yes, we have that!

We have a block of rooms at the Aspire Hotel and another at the Eisenhower Hotel. The two are part of the Eisenhower Conference Center that we are using for our host site for the event. Ok, technically it might take you 2-3 minutes if you stay at the Eisenhower (the Aspire is closer to the start/finish line). The expo and pasta dinner are both inside the Aspire Ballroom making our venue super convenient.

We have filled about 75% of our block of rooms, but there are still some left. https://gettysburgfestivalofraces.com/travel-lodging/ has information on pricing and how to get your room. The deadline for the block is March 18th but we'll fill up before then so don't wait too long and have to drive over instead of just rolling out of bed. Oh, and did we mention that we have late (2pm) check out for all racers on Sunday so you can go back to your room and clean up after your race before the awards ceremony and/or getting your post race beer?

Did we mention that we take over the entire Aspire Hotel with the race? That means everyone there is taking part in the same adventure the second weekend in April.

Looking to do a tune up race to get you prepared for the 2022 Gettysburg Festival of Races? The Get Shamrocked 5K put on by Appalachian Brewing Company on Sunday, March 6th will go off at 10:00am and will be held in Gettysburg at the Gateway Location. It is part of the Gateway Series (they also have races on 10/23 and 12/11).

We are busy getting everything ready for a huge exciting festival event, but we also time a lot of events for other groups and are looking forward to taking the chip timing experience for this event up a notch. We even have a free entry to give away for the race! Just comment below this post and we'll choose one lucky respondent to get free entry. Did we mention that the race includes two free beers from ABC? Beer & racing is a winning combination for many runners.

We already shared this year's medal design, but how about we show you the shirt design before the end of the year to get you excited for your race training over the winter? These fully sublimated tech shirts will come in gender specific cuts to hopefully fit everyone just right. Registrations are moving ahead of every past year's pace, so we have a good chance of a sell out. Don't wait too long to sign up if you haven't already.
