Ambassadors' Cricket Cup The Ambassadors' Cricket Cup is an annual celebration and exhibition of cricket hosted in Washington DC by Embassies of major cricket-playing nations.

The Ambassadors' Cricket Cup was founded in 2013 by Their Excellencies Mike Moore and Neil Parsan, the Ambassadors to the United States of New Zealand and Trinidad & Tobago. The inaugural annual tournament was held on 7 September 2013 at the South Germantown Recreational Park in Boyds, Maryland - and was competed for by teams representing Australia, Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Sr

i Lanka, the United Kingdom and the West Indies. The inaugural winners of the tournament, Bangladesh, will host the 2014 event. The Ambassadors' Cricket Cup aims to showcase and celebrate the sport of cricket and bring together the Washington area communities of all major cricket-playing nations.

The Ambassadors' Cricket Cup is an annual cricket tournament (since 2013) hosted in Washington, DC by embassies of major cricket-playing nations (Australia, Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom and the West Indies). This year's Cricket Cup was held at the Calverton-Galway Local Park in Silver Spring, MD on Saturday 13 September 2014.

Teams representing the local diaspora communities of Australia, Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom and the West Indies participated in the tournament for a day-long “Ambassadors’ Cricket Cup”.

Congratulations to Pakistan for winning this year!

The full results of the 2013 Ambassadors' Cricket Cup were as follows:

Quarter-final one: New Zealand 50-7 (7 overs) lost to Bangladesh 51-0 (4.3 overs) by ten wickets.

Quarter-final two: West Indies 39-3 (7 overs) lost to Sri Lanka 40-0 (3.0 overs) by ten wickets.

Quarter-final three: South Africa 49-4 (7 overs) lost to India 50-4 (7 overs) by six wickets.

Quarter-final four: United Kingdom 51-5 (7 overs) lost to Australia 52-2 (4.0 overs) by eight wickets.

Semi-final one: Sri Lanka 61-7 (7 overs) lost to Bangladesh 62-6 (6.5 overs) by four wickets.

The inaugural Ambassadors' Cricket Cup was followed by a Reception on the evening of Saturday 7 September at the Embassy of New Zealand. Here are some photos of the action.

As well as the winners' trophy being awarded to Bangladesh, the following awards were presented at the Reception:

Australia: Runners-up.

Tauhidul Islam Rocy (Bangladesh): Highest run scorer with 84 runs in three innings.

Muhammad Saqlain (Bangladesh): Highest wicket taker, with six wickets in three matches.

Cameron Bradford (Australia): Best play of the day for a stunning caught & bowled.
