The colorful world of Dr. Seuss is coming to life on stage as Gering High School students present Seussical the Musical this week!

Performances will take place April 16, 17, and 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the historic Midwest Theater. While the Gering High School Auditorium undergoes renovation, the production will be hosted at this beautiful community venue just down the road.

Seussical the Musical brings together beloved characters from the imaginative stories of Dr. Seuss, including Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and many more, in a lively performance filled with music, humor, and heart. The production highlights the creativity, dedication, and talent of Gering High School students both on stage and behind the scenes.

Join us at the Gering Civic Center to meet and hear from author Poe Ballantine of Chadron. Mr. Ballantine will be talking about his book "Love & Terror on the Howling Plains of Nowhere," which the Pints & Plot Twists true crime book club has been reading. Join us for this free event (open to the public) on Tuesday, April 7th, at 6:30pm.

If you attend the Poe Ballantine event at the Gering Civic Center on Tuesday (April 7th), you can try your luck at winning either a fabulous Yeti cooler or a fun highland cow plush. Each item has a lock on it, which must be unlocked in order to win it. The cost to try to unlock it, is $5 per attempt or $20 for 5 attempts. You can select combinations from a list, with those already attempted crossed off. Select the correct numbers and win. All proceeds go to the Gering Public Library Foundation to help them raise money for renovations to the library.
