Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival Celebrate Colorado's official mammal at the annual Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival!

Did you know the official mammal of Colorado is the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep? Join the Town of Georgetown, Colorado Parks & Wildlife, and the Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center for the annual Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival on the second Saturday of November from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will be children's story time and crafts at John Tomay Memorial Library, face painting, programs about wildl

ife at the Georgetown Community Center, hikes, tours, music at Library Park, gourmet s'mores in Strousse Park, archery at the Gateway Visitor Center, an appearance by Elbert the Ram, and so much more! Be sure to stop by the Bighorn Sheep Viewing Station and the Gateway Visitor Center--trained volunteers with binoculars and spotting scopes will help visitors locate the head-banging sheep and offer a brief lesson on the animals. The Interpretive Room at the Gateway Visitor Center will also present information panels, displays, and a brief film about these "Rockstars of The Rockies."
