When we look back at high school, it can be fraught with the trauma of teenage angst and believe me I had my share. But we were also in a community of wonderfully clever people. None more so than Billy Osigian.
Billy was one of twelve and had a fabulous sense of humor. He was kind of a firecracker. He even ended up being a cheerleader when we added boys to the squad.
Today, he's the pastor of Calvary Chapel, Asheville, North Carolina, right smack in the middle of one our country's worst natural disasters.
In the video below, he takes the time to walk through his experience of Hurricane Helene, the dawning realization of the extent of damage, and the subsequent care being given to the community by his church and many others.
Being so far away from the damaged areas has left me wondering where my donations can best serve the hurting. Well, that question was answered for Dan and I when we saw this video.
