Several folks have asked, so I thought I would go ahead and post. Lowryland AR will NOT be having the annual New Years Eve Bash this year. We are sad about it too, and sorry if anyone is let down by this. We purchased a home in FL that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and just simply can't take the time off to organize and throw the party like we usually do. We will truly miss Rockin' in a new year with all our friends and family. It really is the best way to say bu-bye to an old year and start the new one, and we will be thinking of and missing all of you this year. Thankful that we have so many good memories of years past and we will be looking forward to seeing all of you in the coming year.

By request:

Lowryland AR, BROCCOLI CHEESE SOUP
1.5 to 2 quarts of seasoned chicken broth (depending on how soupy you want it)
2 - pkgs of Velveeta cheese (2-32 oz loaves)
1/2 quart of heavy cream
1.5 lbs sour cream
2 large onions (finely chopped)
1 tblsp. of butter
2 heads of Broccoli (washed and chopped into bite size pieces)
2 heads of Cauliflower (washed and chopped into bite size pieces)
1 to 2 lbs of sausage (optional)

In a skillet, saute onions in tablespoon of butter till browning begins. Remove from heat. In large pot steam broccoli and cauliflower till semi-soft. Remove from heat. In large pot, on Low to medium, heat seasoned chicken broth to bubbling. Add Velveeta Cheese cut into chunks and stir. Once cheese is melted, add onions, heavy cream, and sour cream and bring to bubbling while stirring regularly. Turn to lowest heat then add broccoli and cauliflower.

OPTIONAL: Cook 1 to 2 lbs of sausage crumble and drain. Once rest of soup is completed add the sausage and stir. (I use 1/2 pkg of Blue and Gold sausage)

To make the soup thinner add water or more chicken broth.

***I make my own chicken broth so it's seasoned in making. If you want to season your own similar to mine you will need:
Approximately 2 teaspoons of Montreal Chicken Seasoning
Approximately 1 teaspoons of Dried Basil
Approximately 1 teaspoons of Oregano
Approximately 1 cup of Lemon juice
Sea Salt to taste.

Caution: Velveeta and sausage are very salty, so you may want to wait to salt anything till all is made and you taste first.

This makes a huge pot/approximately 2 gallons of soup. When I make this I freeze the extra in 1 quart containers for future use. Freezes and thaws well. If you want to make less cut recipe in half or fourths.
