from 8a-8p in Downtown Geneseo, Illinois

Christmas Walk is held every year on the second Saturday in December. The event kicks off with its popular Geneseo Jingle Run at 8:30 a.m. This 5k event includes a commemorative t-shirt with pre-registration. Everyone will enjoy shopping all day throughout Geneseo. Gentlemen, take a load off at one of the local breweries or pubs while the ladies shop, shop, and shop some more! Children’s activitie

s fill the afternoon with special crafts, face painting, writing letters to Santa, making reindeer food, and much more. Children’s choirs will also be featured at various times throughout the afternoon.As the sun goes down the night heats up with the Walk’s ever-growing lighted parade at 5 p.m. People line the streets as music and twinkling lights fill the evening air. Numerous floats, marching musicians, and animals parade southward down State Street into the downtown district. After the parade, visitors can turn their gaze to the business-front windows. Both living and still scenes will celebrate the Season.

UPDATE: The Lighted Christmas Parade is on as scheduled at 5pm. We encourage anyone attending the parade to put safety first when making travel considerations. Also, dress warmly for the elements.

Our stores and restaurants are open this afternoon and will be open this evening for you to warm up in and enjoy the holiday season. Many are hosting live music and activities for the family. All indoors.

For those who are staying inside, the Lighted Christmas Parade and Windows of Hope concert will both be broadcast on Geneseo TV50 this evening.

Here's your official Schedule of Events for the 2025 Geneseo Christmas Walk this Saturday December 13 in Geneseo. The schedule has been updated to reflect several outdoor activities being moved to indoors. Most Geneseo Christmas Walk events already take place indoors. The Jingle Run 5K and Lighted Christmas Parade will take place outdoors as scheduled so BUNDLE UP! The 2025 Geneseo Christmas Walk will NOT be rescheduled or postponed due to cold weather.

Thank you to our friends at WQAD for highlighting the 2025 Geneseo Christmas Walk. With the exception of the Jingle Run 5K and Lighted Christmas Parade, all events are happening indoors. We are looking forward to an awesome holiday event in Geneseo this Saturday!

About 10,000 people are expected to attend this weekend's Christmas Walk. Many events have been moved indoors in preparation for the cold temperatures.

Here we go again! We're getting asked a lot about the frigid forecast this weekend. So here's an answer to what you are wondering.

The 2025 Geneseo Christmas Walk is on as scheduled. We are working to move some outdoor activities to indoors if possible. Most Geneseo Christmas Walk events already take place indoors.

The Jingle Run 5K and Lighted Christmas Parade will be happening as scheduled. The event will not be postponed or rescheduled due to cold weather. So bundle up!

The Geneseo Chamber will share any relevant updates as the event gets closer.

The 2025 Geneseo Christmas Walk ornament is now available in downtown Geneseo. Stop by any of the three downtown art galleries (Smith Studio and Gallery, Rutabaga Art, and Geneseo Art League) to obtain your special holiday memorabilia.

This year's theme - "Windows Of Hope".
