It is with heavy hearts that we come to you with an announcement we truly hate to make. Due to changes within our sponsoring organization, we regret to share that the Miss Harvest Moon Scholarship Pageant will not take place this year.

💖Krystal and Leslie poured their hearts into this pageant and into the VAF system during our very first year, and what an incredible journey it has been. This journey actually began in 2021 when we first tried to learn how to make sure that Gate City had representation within the VAF system.

💖We have been blessed with opportunities to make a meaningful impact throughout our community and beyond. Together, we were able to distribute over 3,000 books across Southwest Virginia, help raise over $1,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, make two truckloads of toy donations to the APPCAA Christmas Cart Program in Scott County, and participate in countless volunteer efforts that reminded us exactly what this journey was all about — service, leadership, and giving back. We were so proud in our first year to fundraise almost $8,000 for Gate City Frontier and the Gate City Theater.

💖One of our proudest moments was having the opportunity to take Destiny to Williamsburg, where she earned an incredible Top 10 placement, representing everything this program stands for with grace and determination.

💖We want to give a very special thank you to Miss Destiny Brooke and her sweet mom, Rachel, for taking a chance on us from the very beginning. Destiny, you will forever be our queen, and we could not be more proud of everything you have accomplished. We will be cheering you on this July as you compete for your national title, and we know you will continue to do amazing things.

💖To our incredible support system, our pageant family, and of course the unforgettable Wendi Grunninger, thank you for welcoming us into the VAF family and allowing us to be part of something so special. While this chapter is coming to a close for now, this is simply goodbye for a little while.

💖Thank you for believing in us, supporting our mission, and being part of a journey that we will always hold close to our hearts. We can’t wait to see you all again soon!💖🫶🏻

We had such a great day at the Gate City Jeep Jam! Destiny, Rachel and Krystal judged the most patriotic dog competition. 1st place in our dog competition was Rocky, 2nd place was Sugar, and 3rd place was a tie between Lexi and Jayden! They were all super cute!

Not only did she look absolutely stunning on stage, but she also truly represented what our system stands for. Krystal went above and beyond by giving back—donating much-needed items to a local school as part of her commitment to community service!💖
