Handcrafted Goods Fair

Handcrafted Goods Fair An indoor fair with local handcrafted goods available for purchase. HGF is a non-profit event. We do NOT pay ourselves or keep any of the money.

There will also be a raffle table for assorted items, with all proceeds going to local charity. The fees for table rentals and donated item are used to pay for expenses (hall rental, advertising, raffle tickets, etc) and the rest goes to charity. The purpose of our craft fairs is to allow local crafters and hobbyists to display their items and earn money for their crafts.

We are looking at the idea of holding a craft fair this coming Spring 2024. Last year, a bazaar was held in the same location with nothing more than $5 per item. They were absolutely swamped with customers. It would be fantastic to bring in the same kind of crowds. To accomplish that goal, we would like tables to offer various prices, with a cap of no more than $15 per item. We would still require a donation from each vendor for the chance auction. Net proceeds from the chance auction & table fees would again go to the Gardner CAC to aid our local area. Does this sound like something you would like to be a vendor at?

This post is for our vendors for the upcoming fair.

SETUP:

* The doors open to vendors for setup at 7am. Park close to the doors to unload, then move your vehicles to the back of the large parking lot so the customers will have room to park close to the entrance during the fair.
* If you are assigned to the upper level, come in through the handicapped entrance. If you are assigned to the lower level, come in the bottom entrance and down the short hall.
* When you arrive, check in with Nancy Chase and bring your donated item to the raffle table.
* Your space is an 8' x 3' table, plus a couple feet of standing room behind it. While tables are your responsibility, chairs are available at the venue. We automatically place two chairs at each allocated space for your convenience.
* No masking tape may be used to tape things to the walls or floors, per the Legion. Use painters tape only!
* Please follow common courtesy rules when it comes to dealing with both customers and each other.
* No burning incense or candles. Do not apply aerosol scents of any kind as some folks are allergic to perfumes and such.

DURING:
* The American Legion will be selling tap soda and a limited selection of snacks during the fair. Last year was hot dogs and a packaged pastry. You are welcome to bring your own snacks & drinks, if you'd like.
* The raffle will be drawn at 2:30 so winners can receive their prizes before the fair is over.

END OF FAIR:
* The fair ends at 3pm. Please do not take down your table any earlier. Our advertisements all say 9-3!
* Everything must be taken down right after the fair. Your area needs to be cleaned up before you leave (ie: pick up any trash).

Other things to note:
You may want to bring a tablecloth or something to spruce up your table. If your table is only 6' x 3', you can bring a small 2' table for the end or place a small display on the end. As long as it fits within the space you have been allotted.

To everyone who is participating as a vendor this year, there are 3 things you can do to help promote the November 19th fair:
* This picture can be saved to your computer so you can print it and put it up around your area to help promote the fair.
* We have been promoting this event through both of our Gardner community pages on Facebook. If you are part of another community page, feel free to share it with your town.
* Don't forget to share it with your friends and family to help spread the word.
