This past Saturday the Island was on Fire. 🔥

Thank you to everyone and our who came out to the 3rd Annual Galveston Island Hot Sauce Fest and showed love to so many amazing small businesses. Y’all really brought the energy and made this year one to remember.

A huge shoutout to all the vendors for showing up and showing out, y’all understood the assignment and definitely brought the HEAT. 🌶🔥☠️❤️

To all the explorers who took on the Hot Shot Challenge and the brave souls who signed up for the Hot Pepper Eating Contest, Bravo. Those peppers were no joke. 👏🔥

We laughed, we sweated, we handed out trophies, watched pirates roam the festival, spewed some fire, ate some incredible food, cooled off with cold drinks and celebrated a whole lot of flavor and community.

And next year, we will definitely do it all over again. 🔥🌶️

Today we celebrate all the moms, grandmas, and mother figures who somehow do it all. The ones who keep us grounded, keep us going, and inspire us every single day through love, strength, patience, and hard work.

The women who carry so much on their shoulders while still showing up with a smile, a warm hug, a listening ear, and yes… a little heat when needed. 🔥

Thank you for being the heart of the family, the glue that holds everything together, and the reason so many of us keep pushing forward.

Wishing you a day filled with love, appreciation, and a little time for yourself today and everyday. You deserve it. ❤️

Heads up, downtown Galveston — things are about to get spicy. 🌶️

The Hot Sauce Festival will take place between Market and Postoffice streets on Saturday, May 9 for the from 2 to 9 p.m. (The street will be closed from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.)

The free public festival will feature hot sauce vendors, spicy food, contests, kids activities, and plenty of heat throughout the day.

Drivers should plan for traffic impacts in the area and use alternate routes when possible.
