IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATE
After closely watching the weather, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel Serenity in the South tomorrow, Saturday, October 10. The forecast for our area calls for heavy rain and strong winds, and the safety of our vendors, guests, and volunteers has to come first.
I’m truly sorry for this change, especially after all the work and adjustments everyone has already made. Thank you to our vendors and supporters for your patience and understanding.
I’ve already reached out to our vendors, and we’ll discuss a new date and the possibility of an indoor location. I’ll share more information as soon as plans are settled. Please help spread the word. ❤️
🚨⛈️ HEADS UP, TENNESSEE! Strong winds and heavy rain could bring power outages across parts of the Volunteer State this weekend! 🌧️💨
Tennessee folks know how quickly the weather can change around here, but this is the kind of forecast you'll want to keep an eye on.
A weather graphic circulating for this weekend highlights the potential for wind gusts of 40 MPH or higher, along with periods of heavy rainfall across Tennessee.
And when strong winds and soaking rain come together, it doesn't take much for tree limbs to come down, power lines to be damaged, or neighborhoods to lose electricity. 🌳⚡
From Memphis and Jackson to Nashville, Cookeville, Knoxville, and the communities tucked into the Smoky Mountains, it's a good reminder for everyone to stay weather-aware.
If strong storms develop in your area, make sure your phones are charged, flashlights are handy, outdoor furniture is secured, and you've got a way to receive weather alerts.
And please check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who might need a little extra help if the power goes out. That's what Tennessee neighbors do. ❤️
The graphic doesn't identify an official forecast source or specific storm timing, so be sure to check the latest National Weather Service updates for your county before making weekend plans.
Hopefully, we'll just get some much-needed rain without any serious damage. But it's always better to be prepared than caught off guard.
🙏 Stay safe, Tennessee! Let's look out for one another.
Now tell us… what part of Tennessee are you in, and are you preparing for stormy weather this weekend? ⛈️👇
