IN CASE YOU MISSED IT! Galena Oktoberfest was featured on KWQC this past week. So much great information to share about our festival.

Also, if you’re interested in learning more about the “Wiener Based Lager” we mentioned, stay tuned. That was not in the script…

Galena Oktoberfest will be held on October 3rd, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM at Depot Park in Galena, IL.

The Galena Lions Club will host its 19th annual Galena Oktoberfest on Oct. 3 at Depot Park, featuring traditional German food, live polka music, a stein-hoisting contest, and the signature wiener dog races.

WIENERMOBILE WEDNESDAY! The Wienermobile will be arriving in Galena and stopping at Tammy’s Piggly Wiggly this Wednesday, September 30th.

Join us for FREE HOT DOGS, WIENIE WHISTLES, HOT DOG PUNS, and WIENERMOBILIA!

Our generous host Tammy’s Piggly Wiggly will be grilling up hot dogs to give away, and much fun will be had! Frankly, we relish you Tammy.

We encourage our local fest meisters, wiener dog handlers, vendors, and sponsors to stop by for lunch and kick off Oktoberfest Weekend in style!

While we wish the Wienermobile could be at Oktoberfest on Saturday, we’re happy that it can swing through for the local fans to enjoy. Half of a hot dog is better than no hot dog at all.

WIENERMOBILE UPDATE. Sadly, there was a scheduling error with the Wienermobile, and they will not be bringing their buns to Galena Oktoberfest this year. The Wienermobile will however be swinging through Galena this week for a little local fun that will be announced shortly.

Thank you for your understanding as we are volunteers trying to make the festival as fun as possible, and sometimes that’s difficult to coordinate. We are sorry to all the fest meisters that were looking forward to seeing the Wienie Wagon this year, but rest assured we are working hard to make sure they make it next year!

GO BACK IN TIME! Does Galena Oktoberfest ever cross your mind?

Oh, sometimes I go walking through Depot Park where we walked,
Long ago in the sweet used to be,
And the edelweiss still grow, but they don't smell as sweet,
As they did when you picked them for me.

And when I think of you and the love we once knew,
How I wish we could go back in time!
Do you ever think back on old memories like that,
Or does Galena Oktoberfest ever cross your mind?

Enjoy some pictures and old memories from years past, and the sweet used to be. Join us next Saturday, October 3rd at Depot Park, where YOU CAN go back in time again every October!

RIP DOLLY! ❤️✨
