We're really looking forward to 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙢𝙚𝙨 by The Montgomery Playhouse! Two years after killing off the character of Sherlock Holmes in his stories, author Arthur Conan Doyle is summoned to a grand country estate to investigate reports of a haunting. Desperate to prove the supernatural is real, Doyle arrives ready to believe, only to find himself haunted by the very detective he’d written out of existence. But as strange events unfold and dark secrets emerge, Doyle must confront the ghosts of his own creation and uncover the truth lurking beneath the manor’s elegant surface.

Bassist Dan Martinez was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He showed interest in music at an early age and played professionally by the age of 17 in rock, pop and salsa, jazz, fusion and folklore genres. He studied at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and pursued his Master degree in Jazz Performance in New York. Because of his knowledge of different music styles, he has been involved in a variety of projects with artists and groups, including David Sanchez, Alex Sipiagin, Al Jarreau, Cheo Pardo, Randy Brecker, Ruben Blades, Slavo Rican Assembly, Chicha Libre, La Mecanica Popular, Play_Ground, and many more.

Dan joins Jack Gruber (keys) and Ruben Coca (drums) at the Arts Barn Saturday, June 6th. This dynamic trio will fuse jazz, pop and game music into an exciting evening - don't miss it!

Ruben Coca is a jazz drummer, composer, and arranger from Mexico whose music reflects the intensity, the struggles, and the joys so characteristic of New York City, where he has lived for the past 10 years. He showcases impeccable technique and soulful renditions of jazz and Latin jazz standards and original compositions, influenced by his upbringing listening to classic rock, funk, and pop, and his experience performing different kinds of music in New York—salsa, son jarocho, surf, indie rock, and many more.

The santoor is a stringed instrument with ancient roots in the Middle East and Asia, particularly associated with the Kashmir region of India. Its delicate, resonant sound and wide range of pitch makes it celebrated for both intricate ragas and folk tunes.

This Saturday, santoor virtuoso Vinay Desai brings a fresh, contemporary lens to Indian classical music while staying rooted in tradition. He’ll be joined by tabla artist Anirudh Alva Changkakoti, whose sensitive, finely tuned accompaniment and growing international presence make him an exciting collaborator on stage.
