One man has died, and six more were hospitalised in a suspected mass overdose at a trance and techno festival in Sydney, Australia, over the weekend.

According to local police, several people in attendance at Dreamstate Festival suffered medical episodes and were rushed to a nearby hospital on Saturday, February 7, at around 11:30PM.

Two “urgent medical transfers” and three “non-urgent transfers” were made to a nearby hospital, with police now investigating a possible mass overdose.

A 40-year-old man who is yet to be identified died following a cardiac arrest. He was suspected of having taken a substance, though it’s currently unclear what it was.

Speaking about the tragic incident, Minister for Music and the Night-Time Economy, John Graham, said that there were no drug testing facilities at the festival.

“It is a reminder that pill testing that has been going on has allowed information from health to be distributed to people across the state," he said. "We really want to get the word out about the dangers here."

On Tuesday, February 3, ahead of Dreamstate taking place, the New South Wales Ministry of Health (NSW) issued a warning about high-strength M**A in circulation, with some tested pills also found to contain synthetic adulterants.

A spokesperson for NSW Health said that “a range of harm reduction initiatives are in place at festivals, including support and health promotion workers, health messaging, free chilled water, misting fans, chill-out spaces and well-equipped medical services.”

Courtesy of Michael Haley ATTENTION: Producers... IF you have ever uploaded your music onto Spotify's music platform, I highly suggest you remove it at once... Starting september 26th, anything you upload to this corrupt companies web platform, you are giving up every right you have that protects you and your IP and are allowing them to use your content to do whatever they want with it, including changing, dividing, sharing even selling and distributing to any and all 3rd parties without giving you not only any monetary compensation, they don't even have to list you as the creator or author or giving you any credit whatso ever! In all of the years, I’ve spent in music business going to back to 1984, this is by far the worst one sided contract that I've ever seen or ever heard of.

DO NOT ALLOW all your music and hard work be stolen from you, including your name your future compensation and all your rights removed from it and from you voluntarily. There are many other platforms to get your music out there that you still own the rights to, and no one can take it from you. On every other platform, if down the road someone does use part of your content you have the right to claim it and all receive compensation and all monies your music has generated from third parties. Do not let this greedy corrupt company take what's legally yours and rob you of it…SPOTIFY is blatantly taking advantage of the mass amounts of young eager producers who have no idea the ramifications and consequences they will endure and suffer by not removing their content from this company IMMEDIATELY.

Here's just one pragraph from the mutitude of pages of their revised contract that you are agrreing to if you do nto remove your content..

"Licenses that you grant to us

It is with deep sadness that we at Neverland Music announce the passing of the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, at the age of 76. Born John Michael Osbourne on December 3, 1948, in Marston Green, England, Ozzy rose to prominence in the 1970s as the lead singer of Black Sabbath, pioneering the heavy metal genre. After parting ways with the band in 1979, he embarked on a successful solo career, releasing 13 studio albums, with the first seven achieving multi-platinum status in the U.S. In 2019, Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which led to the cancellation of his European tour in 2023. Despite his health challenges, he performed his final show on July 5, 2025, at the "Back to the Beginning" concert in Birmingham, seated on a black throne due to his condition. Ozzy's contributions to music were recognized with his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006 and as a solo artist in 2024. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, and their children. Ozzy's legacy as a trailblazer in heavy metal and his indomitable spirit will continue to inspire generations of musicians and fans alike.
