Week 2 of ! Keep reading to read about our next committee, The Monday Night Wars: World Championship Wrestling’s Roster 1995-2001, directed by Manuel Muñoz-Repiso.

——

In the world of professional wrestling, there are no rules. Violence, drugs, lies, heartbreak and glory await all who dare to enter this insane industry. The 90s were no exception. Each Monday, WWF and WCW would clash in a ruthless ratings war that lasted nearly seven years. After nearly a decade of battle, Vince McMahon and the WWF suffocated their competition, absorbed WCW, and became the unchallenged wrestling monopoly now known as WWE. Delegates have a chance to rewrite history as the wrestlers and executives of WCW, who must outperform Mr. McMahon in weekly ratings by any means necessary. Can WCW emerge victorious, or will McMahon once again squash his rivals and rule the wrestling world? Only you can decide.

The year is 1979, you’ve been granted exclusive access to the communications of the world’s top governments and all your political rivals. In Repatriating the Rubicon, you will take part in the secret joint CIA-BND operation of controlling Crypto AG, one of the world’s premier cryptology firms.

As a part of this committee, you will be forced to walk the line between secrecy and action, east and west, capitalism, and communism. Can you use the information wisely to ensure a more secure world and the fulfillment of your government’s interests? Only time will tell, in the meantime- we’d like to welcome you to Crypto AG, oversee responsibly.

We are excited to announce that the Ad-Hoc topic and Background Guide have been released on our website! So here is our final director spotlight before FLCS weekend begins!

My name is Sloan Stephens and I’m excited to be directing the Secretary-General’s Ad-Hoc for the second year in a row! I’m a fourth-year International Studies and Music major from Orlando, Florida, so here’s hoping the best directorship of my MUN career is saved for last. For this year’s Ad-Hoc I wanted to try some innovative ideas in the committee room to provide a unique crisis experience, so there will be plenty of fun surprises for the delegates! Outside of FLCS, I serve on UFMUN’s Executive Board, play French horn, watch a lot of soccer, and spend too much time talking about my study abroad experiences.

TODAY is the beginning of FLCS! This means one final director spotlight before we release the Ad-Hoc topic! Here is Cole, director of the First Cabinet of South Sudan: 2011!

I'm Cole Hersom, I'm a Junior Animal Science major with a specialization in food animal science. This is my 3rd year doing MUN, I previously served as the USG of Delegate Operations for GatorMUN XVI and the CD for the Tibetan Government in Exile at last year's FLCS. I'm excited to be directing the First Cabinet of South Sudan because this committee gives delegates the opportunity to shape the future of their country and position, more than any other, since the committee begins at the dawn of South Sudanese independence. There will be many challenges ahead and I'm excited to see how the delegates will work together (or not) to overcome them. Outside of MUN I'm involved with the Meat Judging team, Block & Bridle, the UF Wildlife Society, and being way too invested in UF sports.

ONE more day to FLCS but still time for our wonderful directors! Meet Charles!

I'm Charles Sherwood, a fourth year Chinese and Political Science major here at UF. I joined MUN in my Junior year of high school and have had a blast all six years I've been involved. My committee, Outlaws of the Marsh, has been a dream of mine ever since I first encountered the book in my pre-Modern Chinese Fiction class my Sophomore year. I'm excited to be running it at FLCS IX as the final committee of my college career.

With only TWO days until FLCS, I want to introduce you to Tori:
I'm Tori Asgard and I am a fourth-year public relations major with concentrations in business administration and international communication. This will be my eighth year doing MUN and I previously served as the USG of Logistics for last year's FLCS. I am so excited to direct my first crisis committee about Lady Jane Grey, because I'm an Anglophile that loves British History. Outside of MUN, I am involved in speech and debate and PRSSA, and in my (very little) spare time I like to take geography quizzes and listen to music.
