⚠️ Due to the safety of our participants and our staff, the Barbarian Challenge Rope Climb tomorrow, Friday, June 19 is cancelled.

For any questions regarding this cancellation, please call the Noccalula Falls Office. There’s still time to sign up for the race on Saturday — we’ll see you there! 😊

A few house keeping notes -PLEASE READ. —— we have been working hard getting course ready for you guys. If you have been anywhere in the South lately you know it’s been a wet June. The gorge pond and creeks have been rising and falling daily. It will be a last minute call if we are doing any swims or creek crossings. We currently have safety lines at all water crossings and today all are passable. That could change at any moment and re-routing could occur during the evening Friday before the race. So be flexible and understating of our concerns for your safety.
Next - please stay tuned here for Friday night rope climb update- severe weather will cancel this event.
Next - we have revived the Leap of Faith obstacle on the old field and moved meathooks over there again too. We now have a penalty loop for both obstacles if you cannot complete either AFTER a legitimate effort… where you can keep you band and be eligible for awards. AGAIN AFTER LEGITIMATE ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE!!…..the penalty loop is the same for both obstacles and you will have to complete it for each obstacle failed.
All other obstacles are pass/fail and you will need to complete them or lose your competive bands.
Questions about awards - if you lose your band you are not necessarily out of the awards qualification. We fill the top 3 awards first with racers who have kept their band through the whole race. IF…. We don’t have enough racers in each category who have kept their band, we default back to next eligible participants by time. Maybe this answers several questions we had about awards for age groups.
Next - see the photos attached. The red tape, arrows and BC signs are there for your guidance. Don’t cross over or under any red tape, we won’t come looking for you. Signs blow down with winds we’ve had lately so be aware of your surroundings and all trial markings. If you don’t see anyone or any signs for while then backtrack to get back on course. It is marked well.
Next - for the legal adults. If you see the pink horseshoes anywhere on course find Chip at finish line and tell him where and it’s worth a free beer. 🍺
