Summer hasn't started yet, but we are already thinking about the LABOR DAY PICNIC!! And we have some exciting news for this year's event:

#1 - We will have a NEW menu this year for the Picnic dinner! You asked, we listened - we will have a traditional turkey and ham dinner complete with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy! We're hungry for it already!

#2 - We have changed our Labor Day Loot ticket to the LABOR DAY CASH GIVEAWAY!!! The Labor Day Cash Giveaway has Nineteen (19) cash prizes totaling $11,500, with up to $900 in bonus money. That is a potential of $12,400 in cash prizes!! How does it work? Tickets will be on sale from NOW until 12:50 pm on Labor Day (Sept 7th). Then starting at 1:00 pm at the Labor Day Picnic, every 10 minutes, we will pull a winner for $500. There will be eighteen (18) $500 prizes awarded until 3:50 pm. At the conclusion of the picnic (4:00 pm), the Grand Prize of $2,500 will be awarded. BUT WAIT...there is more!! If any of the $500 cash winners are present when their ticket is drawn, a bonus of $50 will be paid out to them!! [NOTE: The $50 Bonus will NOT be applied to the Grand Prize.]

A copy of the ticket is attached to this post; tickets are $10 each. We will eventually have tickets available for purchase at area businesses as well as online but FOR NOW THE ONLY WAY TO PURCHASE TICKETS is to contact one of our Labor Day Picnic Committee members: Tim Gilara, Emily Weaver, Becky Vickers, Cathie Zacherl, Jill Foys, and Janet Fesenmyer. We will post ON THIS PAGE when tickets are more widely available for purchase!

Sorry for not posting until now, signal was exceptionally poor today! But the cell signal was the ONLY thing that went wrong today - we had an amazing Labor Day Picnic, and we can't say thank you enough to everyone who came to support our event! Ok parishioners and friends! The St. Michael's Labor Day Picnic - Fryburg could use your help! We are in need of donations for the Chinese Auction held during the Picnic on September 1st. Donations should be new items, gift cards are always welcome!

To donate, please drop off prizes inside the side entrance of St. Michael Church OR drop them off at the Parish office in Lucinda OR call Emily at 814-673-1623 to arrange drop off/pick up!!

OK PEOPLE - time to wake up!! LABOR DAY PICNIC 2025 is almost here!!

St. Michael's Labor Day Picnic is scheduled for SEPTEMBER 1st, from 11 am to 4 pm at the parish picnic grounds in Fryburg! As always, we have lots of fun planned including family-friendly games, raffles, and a 100-item Chinese Auction! We will also be raffling off beautiful quilts!

The delicious chicken BBQ dinners will be back again this year with the chicken made by the award-winning DB's Smokin' BBQ ,The Shack!!
