It is with great sadness we report the passing of our dear friend John Moore on January 25th. John was a huge part of our Coleman Station Family. Every year he took a weeks vacation to come help us get ready for the festival. He kept us entertained with his teasing and witty replies. Many of you rode on our golf cart shuttle with John as your driver. He called it a ride through the "Enchanted Forest". John also sang and played guitar on stage with the Custer Family. We can hear him singing "The Old Spinning Wheel in the Parlor".
John was kind to everyone and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be missed.
Tim says John and Uncle Paul are on golf carts shuttling people around heaven and having a great time.

This next part is a message from John's children:

We will be celebrating my father on February 18th, 2023 at Youngwood Fire Hall in Youngwood, PA. We will start with military honors at 2 PM. Those wishing to share stories and memories will be welcomed to do so as this is what Dad wanted. We will have his instruments tuned up and will be playing music. My Dad wanted his friends to come tell stories or play him a song so that's what we are asking everyone to do.

Rest in Peace!

We were sorry to hear our dear friend Darlene Trout passed away on Saturday, May 4th. She was such a sweet lady. Her husband John, as most of you know, was an emcee here at our festival for many years. They would bring their camper and stay up here with us several days during festival week. They became part of our extended family. They would come back to the house and eat with us when they were here. Darlene would always bring the best salads. I just loved her broccoli salad. Darlene and John were big supporters of bluegrass music and just great people to be around. Rest in peace Darlene. You will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to the Trout Family!

IMPORTANT! Please read & share...

After much thought we have decided that the 15th annual Coleman Station Bluegrass Festival in July 2018 would be our last one. We have spent 17 years working hard to make this festival happen. Two years getting the site ready and 15 years hosting the festival. At this point in our lives we all want to focus on other endeavors.

We had three goals when this festival started: to honor our parents Ken & Betty Custer, feature the younger generation of musicians, and to bring quality entertainment in a beautiful location & family atmosphere to our area. We have accomplished this admirably.

We sincerely thank our families and friends who stepped up year after year to help with everything it takes to make a festival happen. We truly couldn't have done it without your help.

We need to thank our great sponsors, all the great musicians that graced our stage, and last but not least all of you that attended our festival. A lot of you have been with us every year and have become part of our family.

We are humbled by the love & support we have been given and it has been our pleasure to bring this festival to you for 15 years. Hopefully all of you have some great memories of our festival and we ask that you share those with us on this page.

Please continue to like this page. We have a huge amount of archived photos, video and audio which we plan to make available here in the future.

The Custer Family would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
