Happy Indigenous Peoples Day! Fun fact: Indigenous People recognized a plethora of gender expressions and sexual orientations. HRC shares “Navajo culture has traditionally recognized a spectrum of genders, including Asdzáán (woman), Hastiin (man), Náhleeh (feminine man), Dilbaa (masculine woman), Nádleeh Asdzaa (le***an), and Nádleeh Hastii (gay man)“. They further explain that it was common for many tribes to define roles based on their relationship to their partner and their tribe historically. Happy World Mental Health Day! Prioritizing one’s own mental health can be a challenge, especially for those in the LGBTQIA2+ community. So on this day we remember to place high importance on our mental wellness, and encourage others to do the same. Love of others starts with love of self. 🏳️‍🌈❤️
