Every year I ask myself why I do this light show. Is it for the complaints that its too busy the week of Christmas? Someone telling me how rude it is to suggest they visit early in the season or the week after Christmas? Someone telling me my show is lame and never changes as I'm on the way to Christmas eve Mass? The 1 star reviews? NOPE... I do the light show for those of you that enjoy it and take the time to walk up to the donation station to help other local folks. New years day is the day I start taking down the lights. When I arrived at the park to pull the plug I saw the fresh snow and several different fresh footprints in front of the donation box. I also saw 2 little footprints by the green bulb and can only imagine some parent with a little one and the little one wanting their picture next to the green bulb. That little one was me some years (decades) ago. Today when I left the park, after checking and putting lights away, I checked the recycle bin. Santa had paid a visit to me as those are some of the lights I grew up with and looked forward to putting up at my parents house in the early 80's. Most of the lights in that bin get recycled benefitting The CAN council but once in a while a set comes through that makes me smile and remember my childhood. THANKS to all of you that enjoy the show and continue to support the CAN Council and Habitat for humanity through the donation station and light recycling!

Power is currently out at the park due to the ice so the light show will not be available until power is restored. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Freeland lights runs through New Years Eve 2025. The next few days will be busy but after that things calm down. The morning show is the same exact show and has most of the front spots available. See Freelandlights.com for how the morning show works. You or I cannot control how others act when visiting the show, however we can control how we respond. Keep in mind that some folks are going through tough times expecially at Christmas. Examples can include loss of a favorite pet, favorite rock star or close family member. I continue to do this show for those of you that enjoy it and make it a tradition. Merry Christmas!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
1. The 2025 Freeland light show is set to start Friday November 28th at 6:00 AM. This year in addition to the normal evening shows (5:30-10:20 PM) I will run the show in the morning from 6:00 - 8:00 AM as a request only. The request are entered the same as the evening Song Selector feature. The Santa Sleigh and Christmas tree will be on but the rest of the lights will not be on in the morning until you choose song(s). See Freelandlights.com or below for how the Song Selector works. Tune your radio to 93.9 FM to hear the music.
2. Please use the NORTH ENTRANCE this season for the night shows! Vehicles will enter NORTH driveway on North End of the park and exit from the South Parking Lot driveway. Please follow signs and traffic. There will not be Volunteers at the park to direct traffic on the weekends. PLEASE remember this is a family event and behave accordingly. If the traffic is too chaotic for your patience, please visit early in the season and on a weekday.
3. Song Selector - Every Morning, ALL night Tuesday and the 9pm and later evening shows. You have the option to choose from 18 songs from the years past. Similar to last year locate Freelandlights2 WiFi and then type 12 .25 .20 .25 into your address bar on your WiFi enabled device. A menu will come up to select songs. The songs will be played in the order received up until 8 AM for the morning and 10:20 PM for the evening. The song selector is only available during specified hours.
4. There is a collection box in the front of the display as well as one on the driveway out. 100% of the donations collected go to the CAN Council & Habitat for Humanity helping people in our local community. I volunteer over 500 hours a year to put on this show and do it all for the smiles I get when I drop off the donations to thiese great local organizations. Please consider a small donation of appreciation.
5. There is a bin at the parking lot to recycle your old lights. The lights are recycled and the profits go to the CAN Council. The Bin is located on the back side of the lot from the light show.

I appreciate the feedback and suggestions and am still looking for ideas for the 2025 show.
