Brother William Yancey Sanders
June 8, 1923 - August 19, 2020
This video contains the funeral service for Bro. Sanders. Due to COVID-19, many were unable to come pay their respects, so we hope that you can join with us through watching this video. He was deserving of a huge funeral and long visitation, and we are saddened by these current circumstances, but we do appreciate those who were able to join us. The funeral service itself was open only to family and close friends; the graveside service (which will be posted separately) was open to the public.
Donny & Gail Douglas, friends and neighbors of Bro. Sanders, kindly offer their musical expertise for the service itself. The video begins with their prelude; the casket enters around the 4:58 time stamp. Bro. Gary Perry, longtime friend, neighbor, and local pastor, delivers a lovely tribute to Bro. Sanders. Oldest son, David Sanders, tells stories about growing up, then Bro. Sanders and Mrs Emily's pastor at Corinth, Bro. Ricky Cummings, wraps up the service.
Pall bearers are sons David Sanders, Steve Sanders, and Ron Sanders, son-in-law Doug Ragland, and grandsons Seth Sanders and Alan Sanders.
Bro. Sanders is interred at Fredonia UMC Cemetery in Lanett, AL. Quattlebaum Funeral Home provided arrangements, orchestrated the visitations and funeral service, and provided us with this video to distribute.
