Elvis’ legendary ’68 Comeback Special was originally intended to have a much more traditional Christmas feel.

But 1968 had been a heartbreaking year. The assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy deeply affected Elvis, and as the special came together, a simple Christmas-song finale just didn’t feel right.

After hearing Elvis talk about the state of the country and his hopes for a better world, the show’s director, Steve Binder, asked songwriter Walter Earl Brown to create something that could say what Elvis was feeling.

The result was “If I Can Dream.” ❤️

A song about Hope.
Peace.
Brotherhood.
A better world.

And when you think about it… maybe that message isn’t so far removed from Christmas after all.

What better represents the reason for the season than a dream of peace, love and unity?

Think you’ve got what it takes to step on stage and compete? A KING’S CHRISTMAS – An Elvis Christmas Celebration is coming to Fredericksburg, Texas, December 10–13, 2026, and we’re looking for ETAs ready to bring their very best! 🎤⚡️

This special Christmas weekend, produced by Travis Powell and David Allen, will feature TWO exciting competitions:

We’re excited to welcome the Inn on Barons Creek as the official host hotel for A King’s Christmas. Even better, our headline shows will take place right here at the Inn, so you can stay just steps away from the entertainment all weekend long.

Come for the music and make a Christmas getaway out of it. Spend your days enjoying the lights, shops, food and unmistakable Christmas charm of Fredericksburg, then head back to the Inn for an evening filled with Elvis, friends and memories you’ll be talking about long after the decorations come down.

A special room block and discounted rate have been reserved exclusively for A King’s Christmas guests.

If you try to reserve online, the Inn’s website may show that the weekend is SOLD OUT. Don’t worry — rooms have been held specifically for our festival guests and cannot be booked through the regular online reservation system.

Before the jumpsuits, the movies, and the bright lights of Las Vegas, there was young Elvis—fast, fearless, and setting every stage on fire.

That is the energy Hunter Cole is bringing to A King’s Christmas.

An award-winning Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly tribute artist from Texas, Hunter is known for his authentic vintage style and high-energy performances that capture the excitement, charm, and unmistakable spark of rock ’n’ roll’s earliest days.

In 2025, Hunter won his division at the Penticton Elvis Festival, the largest Elvis festival in Canada. He has also been featured on WSFA News and in Community Life Magazine, placed Top 10 at the Louisiana Bayou Elvis Festival, earned third place at the National Tupelo Elvis Festival at Elvis Presley’s birthplace, and placed Top 5 at the EP Expo in Yuma, Arizona.

Close your eyes for a second.

The fire is crackling. The Christmas tree is glowing in the corner. A mug of hot cocoa warms your hands while Blue Christmas spins softly on the record player.

Outside, the streets are wrapped in twinkling lights. Historic storefronts glow with wreaths and garland. Families stroll hand in hand, laughter drifts through the cool Texas air, and for just a little while, the world seems to slow down.

That's Christmas in Fredericksburg.

When we started dreaming about A King's Christmas, we weren't just looking for a venue. We were looking for a feeling.
