A very special thanks to Andy Lynn and the Rappahannock Rotary Club for providing the staff for the event. From parking to passing out samples to trash collection, they kept everything moving smoothly!!!

WHO WON???
It was a beautiful day for the 2023 Dueling Pigs BBQ Challenge right up until the winners were announced from the Hilldrup stage and the clouds burst open. A lot of fun was had by all and the music spurred some dancing before the deluge.
Disappointingly, Goldie’s BBQ from Alexandria withdrew leaving five contestants, Full O’ Pit from Virginia Beach, Two Dudes Who Smoke from Charlottesville, Harner BBQ from Fredericksburg, Jdeans Smokin’ Six O from Midlothian and Smoke Showin’ from King George.

After tallying all the votes, Harner BBQ came out on top! (https://harnerbbq.square.site) The Honorary Judges agreed. Full O’ Pit came in second followed by Smoke Showin’. But the universal opinion was that all were great and it was tough to decide. Some wandered back and forth with their green voting ticket!

Besides the goal of raising funds for ramps, Dueling Pigs is intended to be a fun and tasty way to give the little known and the unknown pit masters out there an opportunity to show their stuff. Planning has already begun to to make the Dueling Pigs 2024 even better.
