River Map 7 of 7, 12 mile racers only, the upstream part above the start: Stay right under the bridge (river left) for the best water. Then move center and continue about 100 feet to an angled ledge. Look for a vee and try to avoid the massive boulders just under the surface. Once you clear them, you have deep water and a large eddy on your right to attain to a small island. Ferry left toward the island but be aware of the fast current squeezing between the island and the mainland (blue lines). It will try to push you back out to the center. Once you get to the downstream end of the island, ferry all the way right to attain past another ledge. Stay right in the long wide eddy around the right bend. At the top of the eddy, you will see buoy 2 on the left so ferry left to make the clockwise turn and head downstream. Then you will redo maps 1-5, and run map 6.

River Map 6 of 7, Pinecliff Park to bridge 4: There is plenty of water in this short stretch until you go under the right side of bridge 4, Reich's Ford Rd. Then there is a really wide, shallow gravel bar. There is a vee but not much. I was able to get through without scraping in a stock C1. The third and final buoy turn is .7 miles below Pinecliff Park ramp, with deep water after the gravel bar. You can't miss the buoy on the left. Clockwise turn and back upstream. On the way back up the gravel bar, you may have to walk. If so, no judgement, unless your name is Sam, in which case there will be judgement. From there it is a short slog back to the ramp and your turn for chicken. Try not to hate me here.
