We were just talking about Silky T today in Florida. Funk Hall of Fame member. I'm literally the luckiest guy I've ever met. My karma apparently rocks. I picked a good time to move to Florida with Covid et al. Took a break to concentrate on my health. Intermittent issues, but I'm a survivor. Planning serious music festivals. Help is a priceless commodity when you're doing sound for 10 bands, booking 10 bands a year in advance. food concessions for 3 days, vendors, cameraman, video, gate, trademarks, T-shirts, thousands of professional posters, food permit, occupancy permit, plus I played 3 shows. All while sick as a dog from chemo. Lol. We did it, though. We have professional video footage. We were going to do commercials in Dayton, but health reasons sent me to Florida . We'll use some of the footage here in Florida for commercials. I was actually way too sick to have a huge crowd. We kept it manageable. God bless the people that took care of it all for me the last year. Nobody is doing this too get rich. We're doing it because we love doing this. And it's a blessing to play with such amazing talents. It's amazing that it's funded itself. I'm gonna get rich by accident if I can keep my heath up. Without a doubt. Much easier to make a commitment when I have so many people here, bands, an investor with an unlimited budget, to help me make this simple. I trust them if I'm sick. That's priceless. Nobody can do something of this magnitude alone. They understand I need help, but they got complete faith in me to pull this off. My 7th one. I got experience now. I'll post some commercial footage in the near future. I'll be flying some of this Talent down for a weekend. They already know it will be a blast. My keyboard player moved down here. I live with a drummer that's booked all over Florida, going on an East Coast tour soon. Borostock was an impressive lineup. Can't wait to see what else God brings me. I'm shocked I've gotten so far here totally on accident. I'm not even from here. Good karma I think. The fun part will be looking for the perfect campgrounds. Road trip!

The Show Must Go On

I had to move to South Florida for health reasons. I was sooo sick the last couple of years of Borostock that I almost died a few times. I am a retired letter carrier and literally couldn't take Ohio winters anymore. I'm doing so much better. I should be out playing in Atlantic Ocean Tiki Bars live in the next year. Gearing up for that as I write. I will also be live broadcasting for my Ohio friends to enjoy on new Bose towers and sound gear from my pages. Too hard to carry 'old school' speakers. Hence, the Bose upgraded system.
Heart of the Panthers has disgraced our town and our reunion to the point that lots of us are done with it. I will be creating a new thing here on the beaches. Who wants to be a board member after everything Greg Oliver did to get so much law enforcement involved? I'm making sure my name is never associated with that organization ever again. Surely there is another organization to take over such an obviously inept organization. Hopefully done by the school so that the cliques and 'the cool table' doesn't alienate half the graduates. And I'm sure another organization could be more forthright how our donation money is spent and not on immature foolishness trying to stop other events.
I got to play with a lot of Greats. Jimmy D. Rogers. Ohio Players alumni. Funk Hall of Fame players. Brown Street Breakdown before Tom Henry passed. George Trapp. Tom Holland. Keith Berry. Randy Christopher. 200-300 incredible musicians showed up for us. This could have been so much bigger had I not gotten so sick. But I am a musician. And the show will go on.
I'm workin' on it. There are a lot of people on this page that travels to Florida. I'm trying to put something cool and unforgettable together for when we get together and celebrate life and play awesome music again. Luck follows me. God willin' and the creek don't rise, I will be doing studio sound from every show we start doing here for you to watch in stereo up there. Lots of love.
Miss y'all. Stay warm up there. Rick....

May the victims get their money back. Heart of the Panthers should be ashamed for letting this jocularity continue for years after repeated warnings. Bad time to say told ya so?

May 17, 2019
To: IRS Tax Exempt Office
Complaints/referrals
From: Ricky Kasson
SUBJECT: Pending Indictments/Arrest of Greg Oliver for Fraud, Forgery, and Theft. 24 counts.

To whom it may concern:
Greg Oliver was the money guy for an all-alumni reunion non-profit organization called Heart of the Panthers. It is supposed to be about providing money and scholarships, etc, to graduating students. I quit the committee in 2011 after the $1,500 I helped to raise was used for another committee member's moving fund. This isn't my first experience with Heart of the Panthers trying to keep financial crimes quiet. I could see back in 2011 where this thing was headed. I was told that Greg Oliver resigned a few weeks ago.
I created my own event called Borostock in 2012. I have enclosed my trademark certificate. Either in 2011 or 2012 Greg Oliver buys the web domain Borostock.com as childish high school revenge for creating our own event. Since I have posted his pending arrest on my Borostock page, Greg Oliver has put Borostock.com up for auction. Greg Oliver's fraud was over $500,000. We now know that he had been paying for Borostock.com with either money that had been meant for students or was taken from victims of his insurance fraud. By auctioning off Borostock.com he stands to profit off of already stolen money. I'm pretty sure the tax-exempt laws were not written to give tax breaks to people trying to block competing events. I have repeatedly complained to committee member Judge Jeff Kirby about the wasteful spending. He isn't concerned. Although childish and immature in nature, the fact that this money was misappropriated for a corrupt purpose is very disturbing, and in my mind, shows there is a definitive pattern of fraud, waste, and abuse. And a completely callous disregard for other people's money.
I have enclosed the news articles on Greg Oliver, the cease and desist order from the Ohio Department of Insurance. The Channel 12 article and video were very informative. His story made it to both Dayton and Cincinnati news. I have enclosed a copy of the GoDaddy auction notice of Borostock.com. I have enclosed my US Trademark 'Borostock ' to show you he had no legitimate purpose for the use of Borostock.com. Greg Oliver is accused of taking over $500,000 from people that are retired, widows, and persons of diminished mental capacity. Greg Oliver is accused of forgery. I believe there needs to be an independent audit and review by the IRS to ensure students and graduates are not also his victims.
Due to the serious financial nature of his crimes I am furnishing the same copies to the FBI financial crimes unit in Cincinnati. I am also enclosing copies for you to forward to your financial crimes unit at the IRS. Since his crimes were fraud and forgery I'm sure they would like to review his personal taxes plus the returns of Oliver Financial Services.

Thank you for your time.

Lest anyone thinks I was joking. I want to know if Borostock.com was paid for with Panther grad or insurance victim's money, instead of going to students. I want to make sure that when Borostock.com is sold at auction any proceeds goes back to students or insurance victims instead of Greg Oliver's legal fund. I will also be contacting his prosecutor over this matter. I will also be sending courtesy copies to the FBI financial crimes unit and asking the IRS tax exempt office to forward a copy to their financial crimes unit. It's all fun and games until you have to pull 7 years of receipts.

I monitor the use of my trademarked name, and with the pending charges of Greg Oliver, it is now pretty evident I was correct to do so. I just received notification that after years of trying to block our event we are supposed to bid on Borostock.com so he can make money for his criminal defense fund apparently. I will not be spending a dime to help. The Heart of the Panthers can have it. Jeff Kirby was notified early on the issue of Heart of the Panthers spending money to block a domain name. Wasn't important to him. I have the chat log if he cares to call me a liar. I will be happy to post them. An independent audit/review is appropriate for the money Heart of the Panther's raised from Boro grads to ensure there are no Springboro victims. I will be reporting Greg Oliver's case, et al, the Department of Insurance letter, and news stories to the IRS non-profit review department. Contact numbers are provided if you want to report non-profit status abuses that you are aware of.

What I found from my short time with the Heart of the Panthers reunion committee is that none of the improprieties could occur without the knowledge and cover up from other members. Members did not want bad press to come to light. They had a callous disregard for OPM (Other People's Money). I sent my concerns to Jeff Kirby more than once. Jeff Kirby isn't concerned. How many times can one group of people keep proving my point? The stain left by these people will be there for years. Video enclosed. This is what was in charge of our reunion committee in Springboro:

'Oliver is facing more than two dozen counts accusing him of stealing and misappropriating his clients' money.
Investigators say his targets were retired people, widows and those with diminished mental capacity.'

Doesn't that just make you proud to be a Panther?

This is why we separated from Heart of the Panthers early on. We found out the hard way...
A financial services consultant with Springboro ties is accused of “misappropriating more than $500,000 from Ohio consumers, utilizing forged documents, and causing policyholders to designate himself as the beneficiary of annuities he sold,” according to the Ohio Department of Insurance.
Greg Oliver and his company, Oliver Financial Services Corporation, are facing regulatory action from the state.Oliver, a 1977 graduate of Springboro High, was a member of the Heart of the Panthers alumni group planning an all-class reunion
According to a release, the department issued two orders against Oliver and his company “commanding Oliver to immediately cease his fraudulent, coercive, and dishonest practices.” In addition, the department initiated proceedings to revoke his ability to operate under Ohio’s insurance laws.
”Thanks to the work of our investigators, we were able to uncover Mr. Oliver’s fraudulent scheme and now we are working to prevent him from doing business in Ohio.”

Our buddy Tom Henry from Brown Street Breakdown lost his fight with cancer yesterday. Will miss my barefoot buddy. I'm currently in Florida recovering from skin cancer surgery after spending some time in the Philippines recovering. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I missed seeing all of you in September.

Go Daddy just sent me notification that the web domain Borostock.com has been renewed for the 6th time by Greg Oliver and Heart of the Panthers reunion committee. We are not affiliated with this organization and at this point I feel it's important to tell you why. I wanted to share with Sprinboro what the Heart of the Panthers reunion committee spend their time, energy, and money on. This is the back story of why we will never support this corrupt little committee. Since Jeff Kirby has no problem with the conduct of his committee I have decided to approach this another way.
We helped Heart of the Panthers raise money in 2011. Going into 2012 I was going to donate $800 for 2 bands for the reunion at the VFW campgrounds in Franklin. The bands we hire are very popular so we had to book them a year in advance. 6 months away they had still not decided if they wanted to do music or not. We were not comfortable with how my donation was being used. Since I had already given my word to the bands, (and it was pretty clear the reunion committee had no idea what they were doing), we decided to create our own event. We put a reservation in my name at the VFW campgrounds in September 2012 the weekend following the reunion. We even let the reunion go first. So I go the the VFW to put my deposit down for Borostock. Linda at the VFW told me Rusty Wolfe had informed her that he was part of Borostock and was given a contract for our weekend. When I explained to Linda that Rusty Wolfe was not part of our event, and that he only rented the weekend to keep us from having a place for our bands to play, Linda notified Rusty Wolfe that their contract was getting tore up and the contract for that weekend was put back in my name. Unfortunately for Rusty Wolfe the rental reservation was under my personal name and not under Borostock. At the same time Greg Oliver pays for the web domain name Borostock.com to block our web domain the same way Rusty Wolfe tried to block our venue. The money for the campground rental is due in full 30 days before the events. When I went to put the money down for Borostock Linda told me that she was getting ready to cancel Heart of the Panther's reunion for nonpayment. We were just in shock that they had enough money for a deposit to block our venue but didn't have enough money to put down for their own event. Then it comes out that Jeff Rains had used the money we raised from 2011 as his own personal moving fund. I was told he had to sign a contract to return the money or Rusty Wolfe and Greg Oliver was going to turn it over to law enforcement. I then contacted Jeff Kirby and explained to him that he was getting ready to lose his event over his committee's games and that all of the people coming in from out of state would not have a place to stay. I still have the messages. Linda told me that Jeff Kirby went down and personally had to pay for the rental of the campgrounds to keep from losing their event. I've watched expensive bottles of wine given as donations be drunk and replaced with bottles of much cheaper wine. To say that Heart of the Panthers have not exactly been the model of transparency would be an understatement. Who is paying for the 6 years of the web domain Borostock.com owned by Greg Oliver and Heart of the Panthers to keep us from using it? Is this what the Heart of the Panthers are using your donations for? To block other Panther events?
We have had over 200 of the best musicians from Cincinnati to Piqua play for us. We have managed to grow in spite of chemo and deaths. I got to play a show with the Great Jimmy Rogers. We put on one of the best Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix, Santana shows I will ever see. I have moved to Lake Okeechobee in Florida. We are right down the street from the new Guy Harvey fishing resort that is going in. Borostock has a much bigger and nicer campground here. Boat ramp. Air boat ramp. 5 miles from Lake Okeechobee. Much more RV camping sites. Water, electric, cable, and sewage are in place here. Another Boro grad throws Buddhafest every year in December right down the street from me.
I have a direct interest in protecting our trademarked name and I want to make it perfectly clear. We have no affiliation with, and in no way support the Heart of the Panther's reunion committee. I would appreciate it very much if you see Borostock.com from Heart of the Panthers pandering for donations to notify us and we will immediately have Facebook take it down. Facebook has our trademark certificate on file and they have been excellent about taking down all other pages not affiliated with us.
6 Borostock later we are still fighting the Heart of the Panthers for the right to exist just because we do not support the kind of conduct they have displayed since our involvement in 2011. It is pretty obvious that we made the right decision separating ourselves from their event. Their motto 'Panthers helping Panthers' it turns out, is complete hog wash. This statement will run every year as necessary.

Greg Oliver and Heart of the Panthers just renewed Borostock.com again. We are not associated with and do not support Heart of the Panthers in any way. Waste your money if you must.
