Catfish Derby Days Franklin MN We’re a tiny town along the Minnesota River where the Catfish live! Our fishing contest started in 1975 and grown to include other fun activities.

If your around SW MN, stop into our town and have a beer with a local in one of our 2 bars and just ask!👍🏼 Catfish Derby Days is an annual three-day city celebration held on the fourth weekend in July. Events include a contest to catch the biggest catfish, a street dance, a square dance, Sunday parades, a coed volleyball tournament, a men's 12-team softball tournament, a beanbag tournament, a quee

n contest/variety show, a chess tournament, a "Kiss the Catfish Contest," music at the park, a raffle, church services, a fire department water ball, and a St. Luke's Lutheran Church-sponsored breakfast.[

*Fishing Contest: Begins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and closes at noon on Sunday. Must register at the Community Building before fishing. No early registration! Contest is DNR approved. Trophies and cash prizes for channel and flathead catfish. Contest fees: $10 for adults, $5 for children under 10 years. Contact Brian Pederson at 507-557-2756.

Thank you, Wes Lund, for the drone capture of what ‘some think’ is a pretty redneck way to celebrate in a small town. 🤣 while some have negative feedback, it’s feedback and we’ve grown our followers to almost 6k. Find the reels, read the comments… it’s entertaining if you are from a small town, you know! We don’t get much excitement besides the noon and 6:00 whistle! 😂 We will let these rest now and just sit back and watch our current reels grow our audience .
