The Port City Run has been a fixture of the summer season in Frankfort sine 1979. The Port City Run is located in the City of Frankfort which is in Northwest Michigan on the Western Shore of Lake Michi

gan. All three of the events for 2019 follow the Betsie Valley Trail along the shoreline of Betsie Bay. The course heads south out of Frankfort toward the village of Elberta before bending back around and returning to the finish back in Frankfort. For young runners the free 1 Mile Family Fun Run is a great way for the little ones to stretch their legs and to be a part of the race. For those who would like to participate but aren't interested in racing, the Port City Walk is the perfect option. This non-timed 5K walk follows the same course as the race and provides a great way to start off the day. Awards in the 5K race will go to the overall male and female runners in open and masters (50+) categories. Awards will also be given to the top 3 in 15 age-group divisions including 0-12, 13-15, 16-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+
Packet Pick Up will be on race day for 2019 at Mineral Springs Park Pavilion, 600 Main Street, Frankfort MI on Saturday, July 20th, from 7-8:45am. Funds raised from the event will help support the Frankfort-Elberta Area Varsity Cross Country, Football and Track programs. Go Panthers!!
* This event is run in concert with Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools.

With the change to a virtual event we will not be marking out a course in Frankfort. This allows all who wish to participate to run at any location. For those in the Frankfort area that are looking for some course ideas, here are a couple of options.
One is a route along the bay, similar to our regular course. And the other is the old Port City hill course.
Stay active and stay safe out there!

The Port City Run will move to a virtual race taking place from July 18-27th, the sign-up will still go through RunSignup like last year, but it will be switching from fee-based registration to donations (more info, including the updated sign-up link coming shortly).

We understand that these are extraordinary times, and we have all felt the effects of COVID in our community. We hope that if you are able, that you can once again join us to support the track/cross-country and football programs of Frankfort/Elberta schools.
