Neskaya

Neskaya Neskaya is a non-profit movement arts center in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, minutes from Cannon Mt. and Franconia Notch State Park, Neskaya was created to be sacred space for movement disciplines that are also spiritual practices. The building has a sprung floor designed for dancers and martial arts practitioners. The arched roof creates a sense of spaciousness and provides splendid acoustics. It offers ongoing

classes in yoga, dance aerobics, and circle dance as well as workshops promoting personal growth and wellness. It is a serene setting for group events of fewer than 50 people and comfortably accommodates up to 7 overnight guests in a semi-private setting. Handicapped accessible, Neskaya is available for hourly, daily, and weekend use.

On Mother’s Day, May 10, we celebrated another successful “Springtime Family Tea” at Neskaya! 💐☕️🫖☀️

Though the day started with May showers, the Sun came out just in time to welcome our guests. We kicked off the festivities with a delightful “high tea,” followed by crafts, belly dancing, a story from Tara McGowen, PhD, and - of course - more dancing! It was quite a fun and memorable afternoon shared by friends and families.

Welcome to this wonderful weekend of dance, harmony, joy and transformation at the beautiful dance center, Neskaya, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire USA with Andrés and Maxi!

Their first visit to the United States was 2 years ago and participants raved, many saying that it was the best workshop they had ever taken. We are very happy to welcome them back!

Andrés and Maxi teach with amazing style, dedication, heart and spirit! They have a wonderful teaching style for all levels of dancers including beginners, and a repertoire based on their own choreographies which become favorites worldwide, and they include choreographies from various other teachers as well.

Andrés Rey is an Educational Psychologist, Sustainable Happiness Coach, Children’s yoga instructor, and Circle Dance Teacher.
Maxi Córdova is a Clinical Psychologist and therapist specializing in couples, family, and addictions. He brings Circle Dance to the CAPEF (Corporation for Helping Schizophrenic Patients and Families)
Together they have regular Circle Dance groups in Concepcion and Pucon, Chile, and have been featured teachers at the Mexico Circle Dance Festival and have taught in Argentina and Brazil as well. They have helped nurture the Circle Dance movement in Chile by organizing workshops for many different teachers from other countries to come to Chile, and organizing a festival of their own every 2 years in Pucon.

Together they form “Piuke Danzas Circulares” to promote the development of Circle Dance, carrying out educational and community projects using Circle Dance as a tool for transformation, growth and healing with groups of boys, girls, young people and adults of all ages.
They built their house near the sea, and designed their own 20 person sized dance space with some inspirations they discovered at Neskaya! They love nature and explore the lakes and beaches regularly with their adorable dog Chilka.
You will be delighted! Please register early as spaces are limited.

A New Dance Floor for Neskaya

Dear Friends of Neskaya,

As the Board of Trustees looks forward to opening up Neskaya to a broader community of dancers beyond our faithful circle dancers we need your help. The current carpeting on the floor is in need of replacement, and we are considering a smoother and more easily cleaned surface, such as bamboo. That comes at a cost of about $12,000. We are anticipating that this new floor will bring in more users and, therefore more income to keep Neskaya going into the future.

Given the other upkeep needs of the building, we don’t have room in our budget for this project, so we are turning to you. Generous donors have offered a matching fund of up to $6000 to match all donations. If we can raise these funds by June 1, we might be able to have the new floor installed before July 18, in time for the 2026 Summer Dance Camp.

Donations can be made on the Neskaya website www.neskaya.com or by check at Neskaya Movement Arts Center, 1643 Profile Road, Franconia, NH 03580

With sincere thanks,
Neskaya Board of Trustees
