On November 9th, Fort Worth's South Side experienced an unforgettable evening of live jazz as acclaimed saxophonist Tom Braxton brought his artistry to Stillwater Lounge & Event Center. Hosted by local entrepreneur Jim Austin, the event transformed the venue into an intimate haven for music lovers.

A West Texas Walk of Fame honoree and former touring musician with Wayman Tisdale for 17 years, Tom Braxton showcased his remarkable talent through more than 10 songs spanning jazz, Latin, funk, and R&B. His soulful tone and effortless performance style captivated the audience, featuring memorable renditions including his celebrated track "East Side Hang."

The intimate ambiance of Stillwater Lounge & Event Center—with its warm lighting and comfortable seating—provided the perfect backdrop for an evening where music became a bridge connecting the community.

Braxton's artistry extends beyond his saxophone prowess. As a former collegiate 400-meter runner, he maintains a rigorous fitness routine that enhances his breath control and commanding stage presence. TJ Hooker-Taylor is the son of blues and soul legend Johnnie Taylor. Born in Kansas City, TJ founded The Grand Jury Band at 16 and opened for The Bar-Kays, Cameo, and Slave. At 25, after opening for his father, the blues hit him. Now he carries the Taylor Sound forward with original Southern Soul and tributes to his father's classics.
