Due to the potential for rain and storms in the forecast for June 3rd and 4th, the kickoff of the Trinity 5000 Summer Series has been rescheduled to its traditional Thursday night. We’re excited to officially launch the 40th Annual Trinity 5000 on Thursday, June 5th, 2025!

Join us in celebrating four decades of Fort Worth running tradition as we kick off this historic event. To mark the occasion, every Week 1 participant will receive a limited-edition custom finisher medal—a one-time collectible available only for this opening race.

Due to the extreme Texas summer heat, the 5K race will now start at 7:00 am, followed by the 1 Mile Fun Run & Walk at 7:05 am. Packet Pick-Up will begin at the race site at 5:30 am. There are less that 40 shirts remaining for the CRC 4th of July 5K! Most likely there will not be any additional shirts left over.

The Trinity 5000 Summer Run will not be held on July 4th. Instead, join us on the morning of July 4th for the CRC 4th of July 5K at the Woodshed Smokehouse. Every finisher will receive a custom medal. Hurry, only 125 spots are remaining for the CRC 4th of July 5K! Register now to guarantee your spot. Ricky Cox, a true inspiration, discovered his passion for running during his senior year at O.D. Wyatt High School in 1978. His journey began with watching the Dallas Marathon on TV and feeling a spark of inspiration to conquer the distance himself. Since then, he has not only completed marathons but also emerged victorious, winning the prestigious Cowtown Marathon in 1981, 1982, and 1986. On June 6th Ricky will kick off the 39th year of the Trinity 5000 Summer Series. His dedication and success have not only brought him personal fulfillment but have also connected the Cox Family with a wonderful community of fellow runners and friends. In gratitude for the support and camaraderie they have received, the running club is extending a generous discount to encourage more individuals to join the running community through the Cox Running Club's upcoming events. This gesture aims to bring families and friends together in the spirit of health, wellness, and camaraderie. The 39th Annual Trinity 5000 Summer Series is now 3 weeks a way. The series will kick off on June 6th! We encourage all participants to preregister for the online before the event each week to be guaranteed entry and to eliminate standing in a crowded line to register. Also, after 250 participants have registered each week, online registration will close until the next race. Therefore, we strongly recommend registering online as soon as possible. Participants that register for the complete series will use the same unique sturdy custom bib each week to eliminate standing in crowded lines each week for a new bib.

There will be a few changes to all events produced by Cox Running Club going forward. Cox Running Club was founded in 2013. When we formed Cox Running Club, our intention was to produce affordorable runs/walks around or on holidays to give the running community an opportunity to participate in competitive and fun events. We chose the holiday seasons because it also give avid runners an opprotunity to include their friends and family to bond while promoting fit and healthy lifestyles.
