Solange Knowles is once again proving that art can be as accessible to everyone

Through her creative platform, Saint Heron, she’s launched The Saint Heron Library, a digital archive dedicated to making rare and out-of-print works by Black and Brown authors, poets, and artists accessible to all.

The library, announced on Instagram, houses first editions and archival treasures that often sit out of reach.

The best part is that the books can be borrowed free of charge for 45 days. Readers receive a prepaid return label, making the process simple and built on community trust.

Solange explains via Instagram, “We would like to play a small part in creating free access to the expansive range of critical thought and expression by these great minds.”

So, if you’ve ever wanted to get your hands on the kind of books that rarely leave the vault, this is knowledge as luxury, made accessible.

Nigerian-American Dr. Wendy A. Okolo made history as the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at age 26 in 2015.

A milestone that shattered glass ceilings and inspired countless young women in STEM. Today, she’s a leading aerospace researcher at NASA’s Ames Research Center, where she pioneers cutting-edge technologies for space exploration.

With a U.S. patent in flight path control and groundbreaking work in autonomous aircraft safety, Dr. Okolo’s expertise has shaped projects from the U.S. Air Force’s fuel-efficient formation flights to Lockheed Martin’s F-35C fighter jet optimizations.

She also champions diversity in STEM, urging young girls to defy limits. From interning on NASA’s Orion spacecraft to managing a $2.5 million NASA innovation project, Dr. Okolo doesn’t just reach for the stars, she redefines what’s possible.
