46th annual Johnny Appleseed Festival was a great success.
Fort Wayne, Indiana- September 20, 2021. The 46th annual Johnny Appleseed Festival was a great success. After the 2020 Festival was canceled, because of pandemic restrictions, the community was ready to gather and celebrate the life and times of Johnny Appleseed once again. Becky Butler, Johnny Appleseed Festival Board President, said: “People were extremely happy that the festival happened this year. Lots of smiles and positive comments from attendees and vendors. As expected, attendance was down a little, but sales were up. There were some craft and food vendors who sold out by Sunday afternoon. Big lines at food vendors, but nobody complained. A few of our favorite vendors were unable to join us this year but plan on returning next year for the 47th Johnny Appleseed Festival to be held on September 17-18, 2022”.
The entire Johnny Appleseed Festival Board of Directors want to thank all our amazing volunteers, vendors, entertainers, and everyone who came out to enjoy the 46th Johnny Appleseed Festival.

If you would like some straw we have bales of straw on the grounds of the festival and you may come tonight and pick it up first come first serve. We warn you there are still metal stakes in the ground from the tents and we are not responsible if you get hurt injured or blow tires with trailers or trucks.

Meet Elliot Shelton (middle). He has been a vendor at Johnny Appleseed Festival since he was 11 years old and ask his father for a $500 loan to start his booth “Happy Axeidents”. He sells wooden swords, shields and other fun items. Now a college graduate he still loves doing his booth each year. This year has been his best ever.

Wow! Thank You! The community has spoken and The Johnny Appleseed Festival has won 2 Readers Choice Awards. Best Festival and Best Community Festival. We also received a second place for Best Family Friendly Event. We know the reason the Festival does so well are all the volunteers and community organizations that come out each year and do such a wonderful job at each of their booths. Plus a BIG Thank You to to everyone who makes the Johnny Appleseed Festival a part of your family tradition by attending year after year.
