Hey everyone, it’s Karey, Loco RD. It’s been a little overwhelming to try and keep up with the messages coming through and social media and my family. Sorry I’ve been absent and thank you so much to those checking in 🩷 You all are amazing 🩷

Right now here is where we are at:

I’m in Mexico.

My mom and the boys are at my uncle’s in Shingletown.

Codan and our dog are at a friend’s house in Grass Valley.

The cats ran from him just as a CHP came to the door to tell him to leave ASAP. 😢

…and the chicken had to stay. We had nowhere to take them

One of our properties is dangerously close to the fire and if it is spared, will likely sustain smoke damage and have a completely different view.

Our other property is very close to the fire, but right now it is not in an immediate threat. If the wind changes that could change very quickly.

Last update to the map was at least 6 or so hours ago so, I don’t know if it’s spread. We will probably find out in the next few hours.

💚 CAN YOU HELP??? 💚
It’s that time of year where we ask (beg?!) you to come out and enjoy the fresh mountain air with us (aka volunteer at the Loco Challenge, June 1st).

If you are available to help out for one of these shifts, we would so appreciate your help! We could really use a few rockstars who can take on one of the crazy late shifts.

There is free camping at the start finish line and we feed you a delicious meal before or after your shift. The Bambi Inn is a mile down the road where you can grab a cold one if that’s your jam. And, it is always fun to hang and cheer our incredible runners through the finish line.

Many of these shifts need two incredible, awesome and amazing volunteers so, if you want to grab a buddy and come up for a fun day in the woods, we won’t even be mad about it 😜

Words cannot explain the Phuckery of Saturday’s race. Runners showed up, threw down & endured the snow, rain, mud & freezing temps 💪🏽 An incredible sight to behold and event to witness. 🏃🏾‍♂️ ❄️ 🌧️ 🏃🏽‍♀️ You all are one of a kind 🤩

A huge thank to all of you who came out and made the day a success. We are so grateful 💚

If any of you has pictures or videos from this weekend of you enduring and overcoming the Phuckery, we would love for you to share them with us! Due to weather, our photographer couldn’t get too far out on the course as originally planned.
