Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of retired Officer Ross. 💙

The City of Lino Lakes is saddened to share that retired Police Officer Tim Ross passed away on April 6, 2026, at his home in Lino Lakes.

Officer Ross joined the Lino Lakes Police Department on July 1, 1979, and served the community with honor, dedication, and courage for 30 years, retiring on January 31, 2009.

Throughout his career, Officer Ross was well known and respected within the community and a trusted partner in the police department.

His commitment to public service and his steady presence left an indelible legacy for all who had the privilege of working alongside him and for those who follow in his footsteps. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

The Officer Shawn Silvera Memorial 5K is a meaningful fundraising event benefiting the Invisible Wounds Project and the Minnesota Law Enforcement Explorers Scholarship.

Farmington community,

I’m writing to share some tragic and sad news. Late last night, Officer Pete Zajac took his life. Officer Zajac was a well-respected fifteen-year veteran of the Farmington Police Department, and is survived by his wife and three children. Officer Zajac spent the past two years serving as the School Resource Officer within the Farmington school district. Our entire police department family is in mourning and our hearts go out to his entire family. His presence within our department and our community as a whole will be missed. A sincere thank you to our law enforcement partners, and those in the community who have surrounded us in our time of need and those that will support us in the tough times ahead.

for joining us Sunday.

Karla knew Shawn’s wife Jennifer in college and had as she put it, “the honor and challenge” of covering the story of Shawn’s death twenty years ago.

We’re grateful Karla showed up with her fun earrings, cute dog, and her Forest Lake Track & Field jacket because joy is a big part of this event!

The Officer Shawn Silvera Memorial 5K raised funds for the Invisible Wounds Project, supporting veterans and first responders.
