There are moments in history that generations never forget. September 11, 2001, is one of those moments.
Today, we remember the mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, and neighbors whose lives were taken far too soon. We remember the families who woke up to an ordinary morning and, in an instant, found their world forever changed.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, emergency responders, and countless heroes who ran toward danger when others were running to safety. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness continue to inspire us every day.
As a county fair, we celebrate community, family, and traditions that bring people together. Today reminds us how precious those moments truly are. It reminds us to cherish the people beside us, lend a helping hand to a neighbor, and never take for granted the time we share with those we love.
Though many years have passed, the memory of that day remains in our hearts. We honor those we lost, those who answered the call, and those who continue to carry the weight of that day.
From all of us at the Florence County Fair, we pause to remember, reflect, and honor.

๐บ๐ธ Today, we remember September 11, 2001.
We remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless acts of courage shown in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
We honor the first responders who rushed toward danger, the service members who answered the call to protect our nation, and the ordinary Americans whose resilience helped our country heal.
Twenty-five years later, the memories of that day remain etched in our hearts. As we reflect, we are reminded of the values that carried our nation through one of its darkest moments: unity, compassion, sacrifice, and service to others.
Today, the Town of Florence joins communities across America in honoring those we lost, recognizing the heroes among us, and ensuring that the lessons and legacy of September 11 are never forgotten.
A special thank you to the Florence Fire Department for this thoughtful display of the truck and turnout gear, helping our community pause, reflect, and remember those we lost, the heroes who responded, and all those affected by September 11.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget. ๐บ๐ธ
