We are offering one FREE beer per federal worker on Fridays until the government shutdown is over or we run out of beer.
If you don’t believe elected officials in the Senate should be paid, copy the letter below and send it to your representatives.
Dear Elected officials,
We, the citizens of the United States, are demanding that you personally elect to forfeit your paychecks and provide every federal worker who makes a base pay of less than $75,000 per year with a stipend to help them through the shutdown. The people elected you with faith and trust for you to do the best for all citizens with your actions and intentions. As the federal workers suffer, you are still reaping the benefits of a paycheck every month. No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, this isn’t about you! It’s supposed to be about “us,” the citizens.
We understand that the complexities of government budgets and negotiations can often lead to difficult situations, but it is your duty to prioritize the well-being of the American people above all else. The ongoing shutdown has left countless federal workers in precarious financial situations, struggling to make ends meet while their livelihoods are put on hold.
We urge you to take immediate action to show solidarity with those who serve our country through their work in federal agencies. By forgoing your salary during this time, you can set an example of leadership and responsibility, demonstrating that you truly value the contributions of federal employees.
In addition to this gesture, we ask that you advocate for a temporary stipend to be distributed to those federal workers who are most affected. A modest financial support package would not only alleviate some of the burdens they face but also signal to the American public that you are committed to protecting the livelihoods of all citizens, regardless of their income level.
Please remember that your decisions have real repercussions on the lives of individuals and families across the nation. We call on you to put partisanship aside and work collaboratively to find a solution that addresses the needs of federal workers while fostering a spirit of unity and compassion.
We appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to seeing decisive action taken on behalf of the citizens you represent.
