We've been doing some very important festival math...

There are 118 days until the 22nd Annual SC Pecan Music and Food Festival. That means if you wanted to enjoy one slice of pecan pie every day until the big day, you'd need about 24 pecan pies to get you there!

Vendor applications are still open through August 31, but space is starting to get limited! Don't wait until the end of the application period to try and get into the event. You can apply online at www.scpecanfestival.com/vendors.

A big thank you to Presenting Sponsor Pepsi of Florence, Sustaining Sponsor Florence County, Signature Sponsor King Cadillac Buick GMC, Host City of Florence, and Headline Band Sponsor Clarios! See our full list of sponsors on our website, www.scpecanfestival.com.

Yesterday, our friends at Greenwood, SC's BBQ and Blues Festival of Discovery had the pleasure of presenting Gary Erwin, renowned blues artist and producer of the SC Pecan Music & Food Festival's Blues Bash Stage the Order of the Palmetto Award.

The Order of the Palmetto is South Carolina's highest civilian honor bestowed by South Carolina's Governor, and our team and others across the state nominated Gary for this prestigious award for his contributions to promoting blues music in South Carolina and his work with prominent festivals throughout the state over the last few decades.

Playing under the stage name, Shrimp City Slim, Erwin (pictured to the right in the photo) has produced over a dozen albums across his 40-plus-year career as an artist and worked with many prestigious festivals across the state sharing and promoting one of the South's most iconic artforms.

We are grateful to have such an incredible long-standing partnership with Gary and look forward to sharing what's he's cooked up for the Blues Bash Stage this year later this summer.

Congratulations, Gary!
